How much of an underdog would we be against them

The goalie for Latvia is my NHL team's goalie (tCBJ) and he's a head case. I'm hoping to preserve his mental health

Not a bunch. This is pretty much the best US team ever.

Matthews and Eichel need to step up to beat them though.

Well, he's a goalie, so yeah!

Have yourself a day, Brock Nelson! Avalanche players are showing out so far in Milan.

They would be favored but not by a crazy amount. They have an edge offensively, but we're better on defense and have the best goalie in the world.

Eddie Olczyk saying “team” before every country is annoying AF. New goalie for “Team Latvia”. Just say Latvia bruh. “Team USA”. “The US” would be fine.

No one had us doing what we did in 2010 going in. We exceeded expectations that year. Our odds were 3x worse than Russia's going into the Olympics to win gold and WAY worse than Canada's. Most of it was Ryan Miller standing on his head the whole tournament.

I still don't get it

I'll watch some video or something, need visual. At least there is a power play if a challenge is wrong, unlimited is ridiculous.

My wife is Latvian so we were a house divided today

I told her what you said about the goalie and she said emphatically "why?"

The glory of Elvis is he basically kept Latvia in the game, but is a mental head case that will turn the entire locker room into a blood bath when he lashesnout at the defensemen for leaving players open.

He also can keep you in every game going forward. Or give up 7 goals

The women would just drag their nutsack on Canada again. They own them lately. The men would be a great game.

That wasn't an impressive roster. 2002 was way better, but didn't have the goaltending to finish the job.

This team is absolutely stacked, and has easily the best goalies in the tournament. What's really something is that this team could have been even better, but they made some head scratching decisions to snub some players in favor of guys who I guess they think fit some type of role they're looking for.

I get that building a team is about more than just stacking talent, but I don't get why Vincent Trocheck, J.T. Miller and Brock Faber are on this team. Lane Hutson, Jason Robertson, and Cole Caufield were all hosed. Arguably, Alex DeBrincat as well.

We've never had so much depth as a country. The best American born player in history, who's past his prime but still good when healthy, couldn't make this roster. We used to routinely trot out old guys in the Olympics.
