This is the thing that makes absolutely zero sense when racism is brought up about athletes.
These guys will cheer on black athletes for all their other favorite teams with no issues at all. But for some reason this one black athlete is where the line gets drawn lol

Incredibly talented at a sport doesn't mean you aren't a dumbass. Simone Biles was homeschooled so she could focus on gymnastics. LeBron James can barely read.

Totally untrue. The commentators knew it immediately and said such in their live commentary. Every gymnast, coach, or parent that I’ve heard comment on it all agrees that continuing to compete would be extremely dangerous. It was very obvious to anyone who actually knows something about the sport and has spent years watching it. Watching a bunch of YouTube videos doesn’t make you an expert.

This is a short video from one of Simone's coaches, talking about Tokyo. She and her husband coach Simone.
It's in French but you can get English captions / subtitles.
It validates the idea that coaches and commentators could see she was lost in the air, doing the wrong vault, jeopardizing the team score, etc.
