Born in America.

She’s hot. That trumps anything she does in this 7th tier sport.

Is she related to Yoda?

I’ll give her my “Gu”………in Guantanamo!

A more attractive version of this

Traitor
You know how many Olympians there are that compete for other countries, even though they are Americans? Doesn't necessarily make them a traitor, it's just a part of the Games. There are only so many spots on the US Olympic Team.
Though her story is a bit fluky, since you can't have dual citizenship with US/China.

This is the CCP which quite literally is trying to destroy the U.S.
This isn't like competing for Sweeden.

People downvoting you prove that human bias is undefeated.
Duplantis did the same thing. Through his countries colors on the ground because it was personally beneficial to do so.
It was actually worse in the fact that he was the best in the world and she is MORE likely to qualify with China.

She’s the best freestyle skier in the world. She was going to make the US team in 3 events.
She is choosing to let herself be a propaganda tool for Xi. Considering her intelligence and demeanor, it is a very disappointing choice, that is clearly only driven by her (and especially her mother’s) financial self-interest.
But she has chosen to essentially muzzle herself for the rest of her life.
However, that may still not be enough, considering how capricious the Xi regime is (just ask Jack Ma or most of their A list actors).

The argument isn't that she's a traitor because she's participating for a different country than the US. The argument is that she's a traitor because she's participating for a communist government that is trying to destroy us.
Comparing it to Duplantis is ridiculous.

Traitor is a traitor. Duplantis competed against his country in a competition that is essentially about patriot pride because it was beneficial to him.
It is what it is. We can argue about who was MORE of a traitor but they are both traitors.
This is about sports. She’s not joining the Chinese army. Both the Swedish Olympic team and Chinese Olympic team want to “destroy” the US Olympic team in whatever events they compete in. Do whatever mental gymnastics you have to do to not feel that way about a guy because he went to LSU.

I'm not going to get into the politics of things here on this board, but, IMHO, there is a very long list of Wash DC professional political class members who would serve the interests of Red China, so long as there was a very hefty pay-out involved.
Patriotism, particularly USA Patriotism, has been for sale to Red China since about 1990. I'm not going to pick on this woman for doing something that our own fellow Americans in Wash DC have been doing for decades - with no end in sight.
Get paid, period. Forget about that "USA Patriotism" mythology - it's a myth - and the people who run the World know it's a myth. This woman wisely assessed the practical side of things and decided that it was in her own and her family's best financial interests to play for Red China. MOST Americans these days would do the same thing.
I apologize for my nihilistic political views expressed on this non-political message board.

Yes, but, there's been quite a lot of that going around in Wash DC since 1990 or so.

ok, to you. I think there's a definite difference between competing for CHINA vs just about any other country in the world.

So, maybe he's deserving of criticism. But, it's not even close to on the same level as competing for China.

How many women's skiing medals does it take to destroy a country?

You can't destroy a country by winning skiing medals.
The argument is that she's representing a communist country (albeit in a non-military way) that is actively working to destroy the United States. Do you think she doesn't support those ideals? Or, do you just think that because she's not holding a gun her espousing the death of the USA isn't important?
