think you meant "e.g."

"i.e., e.g., f*ck you"

/pulp fiction reference.

Does anyone know if they are having any progress at all today with trying to shut off the well?

A few people who claim to know people at MMS claim there was some more success with the BOP yesterday evening, but its odd that hasn't been reported yet.

My boss is friends with someone on the ROV team. He said they at least had the flow cut down some.

Why do you keep saying, "with so much sliding...."? They are not going to use conventional motors to drill the relief well, they will use rotary steerable.

The well plan will likely build the well to about 45-60 degree and hold that tangent to intercept, angle depending on how deep they plan on intercepting the original well. Your 5-6 month time frame is way off in my opinion.

are there any satellite pictures we can see of the spill as it approaches the coast?

I think i.e. ("that is"), works better than e.g. ("for example") in that context because he's explaining what he means rather than providing examples.

frick...forecast today shows a small section heading west of the river. If it gets into Barataria, I'm seriously going to need counseling.

Is anyone addressing the oil smell in the air and any possible issues with that? Or is it an :ohnoz: issue?

I'm not a nervous nelly, but when I go outside and it smells like earl (black gold, Texas tea), seems like it could be harmful for you. (Honestly, I like to sit outside and smoke stogies, so I'm wondering if that is ill-advised.)

Did the wind shift? Maybe so. Damn this is messed up. I wonder what effect a hurricane would have on the situation?

I'll be in Myrtle Grove tonight. Heard on W&J this AM that you could smell it in Slidell.

I'm fishing this weekend regardless of the weather. If it's the last time I can do it in 10 years, I'm fricking doing it.
