You will smell it for sure. People can already smell it in St Bernard and the Lake Catherine area. My trucker driver is in Buras and said the smell is terrible with the strong southerly winds.

Nope. Too windy and too rough and will be that way for at least the next 5 days.

I don't visit Gulf Shores often nor have I seen many oil spills so I am not sure if this is a common occurrence or what this could be at the water line on the beach.

Is it possible there are small patches of oil that have broken off from the main area or is this normal to see on the beach around here?

Just spoke with a friend in Venice and he says its a madhouse of helis, boats full of containment gear and newscrews. Apparently the local shrimpers are gearing up to try and go help as well. At least people are starting to pay attention, I just hope its not too late. I have a feeling we're fricked though.

Any word on the coil tubing helping the rov's get more pressure on the BOPs?

most , if not all of the oyster beds east of the river are going to be destroyed.

At least then they can reopen Canaervon. That might flush some of it out.

I wonder if the freshwater coming out of the river is going to "cut" the spill in half and send it east and west? That would be terrible news for Grand Isle and Breton/Chandeleur.

I'm getting seriously depressed.

I feel kinda guilty working in the business, but if one more fricker says "drill baby drill" to me I may shove a BOP up there arse.

ETA: See what this is doing to me. frick

Doesn't the current loop westward though?
