I am very impressed with the civility of this board... A bunch of frustrated, pissed off cajuns and I thought there would be fireworks....
Comments have for the most part been level headed and measured... even in instances of disagreement!

To me, it looks like the one on the far right might be partially plugged.

T Boone Pickens said on Larry King, this is a long ways from over and he does not expect the top kill to work. He said its a very long shot.
He thinks this thing will not be over until they can get there with the relief wells.

I can't make up my mind.....MORE JUNK!!!
TBPickens may be correct. Junk shots were used very successfully in Iraq.......this is 5,000' below water though.

that pipe looks like it may have sprung another leak

Looks like both of the right plumes may be flowing less than earlier today.......hard to tell. This will go on for a while.

Howdy neighbor.....I'n not sure about a new hole. THe plume keeps swirling around and is confusing.

this is my first view of the bp link, I know there are 46 pages on this thread, so it may have been previously discussed, but what is being broadcast now looks as bad as the original video shown days ago.
It's just several small plumes v. 1 big one.
The rate of flow seems troublesome. God help us.

Im so pissed off! This is so depressing...how much more can the gulf coast take...Its like nobody gives a crap about us down here...

it looked like a plume was coming from all the way on the right side of the riser, but it was obscured by the pipe that runs along side it. i don't see it anymore, but it was flowing from the side of the pipe. but maybe i've just been looking at this for too long.

2 different leak sites.
Yes the flow rate is troubling and has not really changed.....

T Boone may be right about the top kill. However, should the top kill not work, BP has another option that is in the works to put another valve or BOP on top of the existing BOP. I understand the chances of success are higher but so is the risk.

so, is the current feed of a different leak site than the one shown initially (days ago)?
If so, I would like to revisit that one. I understand it is technical and painstaking, but this should give a sense of progress, or lack thereof.

yes, this is farther up the pipe on the BOP, that was the end of the pipe, I saw a quick video of it earlier and stuff was still pouring out, they really arent showing that feed though today, only saw it for a few minutes.

This is the important one. If they can plug it then they stand a much better chance of getting mud into the well.

close up of some black debris that is sticking in the 1 hole

The flow from that one site has been dramatically reduced. Also I think I see some of the "junk" protruding from the hole on the far left.

Could be a piece of the Hydril.
Posted on 5/27/10 at 9:52 pm to JudgeHolden
watching it live it did slow down a bit where the black crap is sticking out, looks like as it is working farther out it is stopping it. Lets just hope it doesnt come out
