You mean the other end of the riser?

Yes, the end of the riser on the sea floor where the oil was/is leaking that they were showing for a while before the top kill started.

No, I haven't seen any shots of that since they started the top kill.

That's what I thought.

So is it safe to assume that it is still pouring out of the end of the riser sitting on the sea floor as well?

Well,

I'll say a quick prayer then I'm off to watch the Tigers Baseball. Will check back in before bed. Later.

Looks like some "Junk" from the junk shot is sticking through one of the holes and it looks like the flow at the kink is lessened.

Let's hope it keeps up.

Looks like one of the larger of the 4 holes is restricted.

I don't think so, but it is a guess. I think they are probably at least holding backpressure on the riser insertion tool. I am sure it leaking some, but I think they are mostly concerned with the top of the LMRP when doing the top kill. It seems logical that the riser is now full of mud, which will probably settle out and cake up.

There are 2 dark plumes in the center. Looks like some black rubber is aticking out of the right one of those. Previously they were flowing equally (I think). now the one w/ the rubber looks to be allowing less flow.....maybe.

COTiger I'm an EE not a PE. I used to work for Dresser in Houston where I designed electronics for CBL and other acoustic tools. Then I went to work for a startup called Numar that developed a very sophisticated NMR tool. Halliburton eventually bought that company. I'm not in the oil patch anymore. My field is now traffic control equipment.

And God knows Colorado Springs needs all the traffic control equipment and expertise it can muster.

Unfortunately, COS isn't one of our customers. Everybody around here, maybe everybody around everywhere, complains about the traffic. But I don't really find it all that bad. I've lived in worse places, like BR for example. The only real problem here is there are no big east-west arterials.

However if you drive in Denver, Englewood, Littleton, Castle Rock, Ft. Collins, Boulder, Pueblo or just about anywhere else along the Front Range, you're driving through our intersections.
