As the cut gets deeper into the pipe, won't it be the pressure from teh well pushing the blade up that puts it in a bind? It's almost like the blade is a cap being pushed up.

they been busy, looks like they keep moving what I guess is the broken riser.

The riser is not cut free yet so they can't move it yet. From what I've gathered, the wire saw bound up. They are moving the Shears of Doom in for some reason. Maybe they're going to cut the pipe closer to the BOP to take some of the strain off. Or maybe they're just going to grab it with the shears and try to pull it to one side to take the load off of the wire saw.

Looks like they're closing the jaws on the cut end of the riser. Wonder if they're going to use the weight of the shears to push down on the riser and open up the cut on the other end a little.

They have to get a flat smooth cut to get a seal with the piece they are going to put over it!!

They ought to somehow "crimp" the pipe and reduce the flow. Nothing that they set out to do has worked.

Did they just cut a large section of the riser off? It sure is swinging around alot.

I think that's the ROV swinging back and forth,not the riser.
