YouTuber faces 20 years in prison for purposefully crashing his plane

Jacob, who lives in Lompoc, California, pleaded guilty to one count of destruction and concealment with the intent to obstruct a federal investigation, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Central District of California.
Jacob took off from Lompoc City Airport in California on November 24, 2021 and claimed he was flying to Mammoth Lakes. Jacob outfitted the plane with cameras from several angles and about 35 minutes after take off he ejected from the plane above the Los Padres National Forest.

Honestly I agree with this. He could’ve killed somebody, or started a huge forest fire.

In the article it says he lied, hid the wreckage, then chopped the plane up and stashed in various dumpsters around town like a fricking serial killer. And submitted a false crash report.
He probably didn't do much that was technically illegal if he hadn't lied and gone to such efforts to cover it up. He'd be sitting free with a reckless flying fine and a revoked license.

aside from the fact that this dude is obviously a moron who is obsessed with social media clout and attention, and also aside from the fact that he could have hit someone on the ground or started a fire....the original video is pretty entertaining. but regardless - frick this guy.

No way he sees 20 years especially with him pleading guilty. I'd be surprised if he even serves a year.
