And what tax payers are being pushed out. These places I’m describing are generating a gigantic amount of economic activity.
Let's just cut to the chase on their argument. Walkability = green = lib = communism = government tells you that you can't own a car. So instead we'll sit in ze car and be stuck in ze traffic.

I dont think anyone would hate a walkable city if they were found in one.

Ok. Dense urban cores have a pretty long track record. Like, longer than anywhere else

Lost me at bikes. People that ride bikes on public roads/sidewalks are the lowest scum on earth

You don’t have to. I wouldn’t want to live in any of the areas I’ve described. I still enjoy going to them for a night out to dinner and drinks or hanging out on a Sunday afternoon.

So how are they just jobs and not a career? YOU know that this persons career doesn’t include these jobs?
This is what happens when you jump in halfway through a discussion.

ohh me too! right up until a couple do section 8 apartments open up across the street, then your hipster friends without roots to the area move out.

again, longevity is the name of the game. how long do the single hipsters and hipster couples want to pay for it.
there's a new supply of people who want to live in a walkable neighborhood with restaurants and bars every single year

But you said it had nothing to do with the specific poster. So nothing that I missed would matter. If the poster in question has no bearing on whether they are jobs or a career, then they can’t ever be a career for someone, only jobs. Which is horribly wrong lol

I don’t know anyone who lives there. All my friends are in their 30s or 40s with kids. I think the people who live in these areas are mostly young professionals.

I don’t hate the idea of a “15 minute city.” The idea of being able to walk to get most of my needs sounds great. The problem is that the people who want it the most will absolutely frick it up. Well meaning liberals have never once had a social or economic agenda that has been successful by any measure. They’ll build these idyllic little communities in California and try to push it on everyone else. And they’ll say we need to have “low income housing” allotted in these little communities. Then they’ll all turn to shite.
