What’s the point of music lessons if your kid won’t sign with a label one day? What’s the point of cooking classes if they won’t open a restaurant one day? Why take art lessons if they won’t duct tape a banana to a wall one day for millions?

Music, cooking, and art lessons are maybe an hour a week, for music 30 minutes a day practice if you are serious. The amount of time devoted to travel ball is insane by comparison.

Well you kind of started with insults and assumed because a kid plays travel he suddenly can't be a high achieving kid in other things

Like I said, you should learn to read before you start hurling insults.

Evidently, you trying to trash an entire profession where the average income is near the top of any industry.

And if I am so wrong on having to play high level travel to make a hs team....show me one player on barbe, Sam Houston, sulphur, st louis, STM, teurlings, catholic, Zachary, Parkview, brother Martin, Jesuit etc that didn't play.

I'm not talking kids from the eastbank team that came back for a 2 year stint and played both, I'm talking little league only.

And how do you expect kids to make a hs team playing only rec ball when there are no 13 and 14 year old leagues? Do they suddenly get better by not playing at all?

Chicken or egg?

Your posts are extremely cringy, I'm not sure what made you become unhinged lately

You are free to not do competitive sports and spend your time at leisure

Bottom line is, why do you care wtf I’m spending my money on?

Financing a 10 year olds baseball career is extremely concerning and many, many people who are playing travel ball of any kind are doing just that.

Most won’t play shite level high school ball.

And that’s fine. The vast majority of Junior High athletes won’t be playing at a high level. But the money and investment in low level baseball is astounding.

Here’s your ring for paying $8-900 for the weekend. You can’t melt it down later. It’s not real gold

The only people that start tourney >insert travel sport here < threads are posters who don’t have kids or don’t participate in said activities and see things from afar. Find new materia

This....100% this

It's fine to drop 10k a year in a duck lease and miss kids games all the time...that's just part of being a good dad....but frick parents who spend money to have their kids play competitive sports and actually care enough to go.

Typical Louisiana dream....spend 150k on a camp, go get drunk every weekend and leave the kids and wife at home.

Like who?

I know of no one that “finances” anything. And if they are financing, how are they going about it?

Yeah, that's probably low after factoring in all the costs if you can't drive back and forth

What is a family spending $800-$900 on driving within 60 minute drive to a tournament twice a weekend?

You seem to know a lot about tourney sport parents and spending habits. Where do you get your information if you don’t participate?

The average American has credit card debt, is 50/50 if they are saving anything for retirement, is leveraged to their tits with cars and mortgages.

Louisiana is worse than average in all of those categories, so statistically, at least half of travel ball parents in the state.

How many do I know personally? Several from years ago, their kid played travel ball, but if a bad storm fricked their roof up they'd be in a bind financially.

You seem to be taking this personally.
