I have had that happen when I was buckling my kids into their car seat when they were infants. It was usually some old a-hole. I never moved.

I always park way far out in the parking lot anyway, away from other cars. The fat bastard that has to park close to the store is the same son of a bitch that is gonna ding your car with his door.

Didn’t realize going about your business in a normal manner was “enabling” lazy people. Good grief.

Yeah. But he can stare at his phone anywhere. Spots are scarce. It’s a dick move and selfish. No two sides on this.
What if he is taking a call as he got in his car? Or replying to a text? Or looking up directions on google maps?
You would rather he do that while driving?

If I went to a big box store, I just looked for the first spot where the two adjoining spots were empty so i can just pulled into my spot facing out so i don’t have to back in.

I always park far away where no one wants to walk that far.

You can find another parking spot. You just have to walk more.
So that you can sit in your car staring at your phone? That's pretty selfish.

How fat are you that you can't just go to the next space? There have already been legit reasons posted to look at a phone when you get in the car

OP didn't say that. OP said someone honked at him and then he decided just to sit there.

Never happens to me, I'm in the car, then gone. However, should it happen, I suspect the best way to handle it would be to put your car in reverse, lights come on, foot on the brake....and sit there.

Lean, mean, and not an a-hole.
My chauffeur drops me off, while my OT 9.9 assistant carries my bag, so it’s not a problem for me. It’s just dickish for the guy burning a parking spot for no good reason.
