If enough folks in your state fail to be counted, It might cost your state a seat in congress. It might also cost school lunch funds, or highway funds, or aid to delinquent pitbulls or whatever federal money is distributed on the basis of population.
However, if you don't want to participate, go for it. Just be aware, they are already tapping your phone and can tell you everything you have purchased on your credit card for the last twenty years. They probably know every time you have purchased a quarter pounder or enjoyed a lap dance. They have equipment to drive past your house at 50 mph and count heads if they want.
Just hope they don't decide to give the next big virus to everyone who refuses to participate in the count. You do understand, those who refuse to participate and be counted may need to be thinned out.
