Pretty much. The Cold War had convinced most of my group that we wouldn't live very long.

Was this really a common perception?

Only if you bought into typical leftist, and as usual, wrong fear mongering that Reagan was going to start WWIII.

Frick no, I was smoking pot and going to the lake everyday skiing my senior year.

Had no idea what I would end up doing

Now I'm a corporate number working for a company with 5,000 employees.

Is it where you thought it would be when you graduated High School?

Am I doing what I thought I'd be doing? No.

Am I living a similar lifestyle to what I thought I would be? Yes, for the most part. When I was 18, I never even considered that I could have a career working from home though. I wanted to be a Pharmacist, but I think I'm happier in my current life than I would be with that career path.

I had few expectations as an 18 year old and I have exceeded them in every way.

Do you also apply this practice when starting a thread?

Fine line there; "when you graduated high school".

Early in my senior year, I thought I would go to film school at USC and be the next Spielberg or George Lucas.

But by the time I graduated in May, I really didn't know what I wanted to do and hadn't even applied to college. My best friend had gotten a scholarship to a private college in Texas; I applied right about the time of graduation.

Got a half-scholarship at that late date and went there, but only stayed one year before transferring to LSU where the rest of my friends were having a blast.
