Your competitiveness mindset

Are you aiming to be the best you can be?
Or
Are you aiming to beat your competition?
Do these overlap? Possible, even probable. but not certainly not inevitable.
So, which one are you?

My philosophy is that life is too short to compare yourself to others and that our purpose here is to be generous and kind to all living creatures to the greatest extent possible and in so doing purify our souls with the light of ancient knowledge and wisdom...
Put a smile on your face. :)

I unfortunately am hyper competitive. I want to win, and I traditionally have been a sore loser. I've toned it down in recent years by just constantly telling myself that it's not a competition.
On a personal level, I shite away my younger years by blaming everyone else for things, so now I'm borderline sociopathic when it comes to extreme ownership. A couple of messed up things happened to me as a kid, and my life would have been different had I just dealt with it as a young adult instead of letting the depression and PTSD win.

I want to crush my competition, see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

Show me a good loser and I’ll show you a loser.

If you stand on the banks of the river long enough, you'll see the bodies of your enemies cone floating by.

Compete by not competing. Find your niche, perfect it. Make them compete with you. I own a business that we do just that. We have our marketshare by doing things others can't or won't.

Competing against myself is probably the best thing I’ve ever done.
That’s why golf is such a challenging game and an excellent metaphor for life. Always trying to better my previous best. Doesn’t really matter what the other people around me are doing when I do this.

Depends on what I’m doing.
If it’s a legit competition, then yeah, i want to win but if it’s just friendly crap, I’m usually not bothered by it cause it’s all in fun

:why not both gif:

Little of both but not 100% of either.
Using basketball as an example, I always tried to be my best and beat opponent. However, within the normal etiquette so I’d never try to undercut a dunker or similarly dirty moves.
If I was really competitive to the max, I’d have done those things to increase chances of winning.

I hate losing far more than I enjoy winning. Not losing is my motivation.

For me, it’s mostly about not letting someone get the better of me. It’s not about winning, it’s about not losing. Weird, but that’s the best way I know how to describe it.
