I felt so disappointed as a parent teaching my kids to drive. The SOBs had no idea where any was or how to get anywhere without their phone.

I could find my way to your mom’s house blindfolded

Pro tip: Keep the blindfold on.

Maps, road signs. You always knew where you were going before you left.

Of course, I could just keep googling directions to the address from my current location

My kids are all out of the house and missed the phone dependent age. I taught my niece how to drive last summer and she didn't know any street names and couldn't get anywhere. She's a smart kid but god damn pay attention just a little bit.

I'm not young, but it reminded me. I've still got 30$ worth of maps from Katrina.

I’m on the upswing to 40 and remember printing out mapquest pages like nobodies business a decade ago
That said I’d probably be lost without GPS these days. Especially since Atlanta has become the clusterfrick beyond all clusterfricks these days

I navigated myself from BR to Texas via a whole bunch of rural highways through the middle of nowhere using a gas station map during hurricane evacuation in 04 when I-10 was a parking lot. I think I can manage without a GPS

Seriously? Do y’all think people GPS their way to every place they ever go? Using Waze to check traffic is not the same too.

I grew up taking road trips almost every year. We had our big State Farm atlas that I would looks through all the time. My parents would find different ways around if there was a wreck or something.

GPS is just a map that talks.

You’d be surprised how many people wouldn’t have a clue how to read a map.

That’s not because they’re young. It’s because they’re dumb. It’s not like everyone in 1994 was a map wizard.

Yes.

I would.

I would not be able to though if I didn’t have some sort of directions though either printed out or written down or something

I would have to not be familiar with an exact address to use GPS in most instances.
