I was in the military but I do think it's annoying when military dudes use military jargon on the internet. Just talk like a normal person man. Most people don't understand military acronyms so by using them you're just confusing people and not getting your point across, which is the entire point of communicating. So either you don't realize that you're communicating ineffectively, which makes you a retard. Or you just like showing off that you know lots of ridiculous acronyms, which makes me a douchebag.

That being said, OP is clearly a POG.

over and out

Anyone who says this is a fricking moron.

"Over" means your transmission is complete and you expect a response.

"Out" means you are done talking and do not expect a response.

The military nerds speaking in a multitude of acronyms is laughably annoying as well.

Protip-Anything beyond NORAD is not likely in the lexicon of anyone other than your fellow nerds.

I spell stuff out phonetically over the phone, use military time standard for everything and I even say "copy" sometimes.

I do too. A few years ago I made a point to memorize it so I’m not searching for a word “E, as in…uh…elephant?”

True story, I had a guy on the phone one time hit me with "U, as in Eucalyptus." That was a pretty good chuckle.

Do you know the difference between a Nursery Rhyme and a Sea story.

NR. Starts "Once upon a time"

Sea Story. "This ain't no shite"

Wasn’t created by the military and extremely useful in various industries to prevent confusion, accidents, and injuries.
