I totally agree with this Roger.

Taken to the extreme (as Roger often does), Roger's position is typical libertarian tripe though.

Good, I don't need some Jr legislator from some district in California to keep me safe.

I understand that as meaning no more oral sex between homosexual people, right?

Actually, it's pretty sad people like yourself require the services of people like the legislator from Van Nuys to keep you alive.

What does this even mean? I don't live in California.

Neither do any of the others in this thread praising this legislation. But here they are.

Its silly and unnecessary low fruit aimed at dumb populists and granola types.

If the FDA says it's safe, that's all there is to it. But wait, also frick the FDA. Also, that legislator in CA should be making laws to protect us from bums living and shitting on the street. But also, we don't need laws for stuff, we need society to become better decision makers.

I'm with you, Rog. Your logic is sound and consistent as always.

Sounds like youre a rube.

I don't trust the FDA, and sure as hell don't trust some goober who makes a living off of public opinion.

Don't stop there. Consumers should be informed to make responsible decisions when purchasing adulterated salmon, but only triggered simpletons need food labels. We all learned red dye #40 is bad for us, but we can't trust when we are told things are bad for us.

Some truly remarkable knowledge being dropped.

I spent 3 years dealing with Prop-65 bullshiat. Long form was retarded, required to list the elements that might cause birth defects or cancer. They changed it to allow short form to just warn you. But they require this on every package, or stupid fricking law firms like "as you sow" will find it and file a lawsuit.

frick California. Seriously, I wish companies would just opt out and let California figure it out themselves.

My wife and I were talking the other day about the cost of living out there. Add that to the screwy shite, fruits, flakes, and societal testicular deficiencies and one has to wonder why anyone stays there or does business there.

Why is the answer to everything more government? "I don't like what producers put in my food! The government should do something about that!" not "I don't like what producers are putting in my food so therefore I'm going to only buy the foods without those substances."
Because government is the only body that can regulate it. The invisible hand is remarkably good at maximizing capitalism, but maximizing profits sometimes screws humans.

It’s a lot easier to say “if you don’t like what they put in your food, don’t buy it” than, “if you don’t like what they put in your insulin, don’t buy it.”

This might be the first California ban that I fully support. Food and drink additives in this country are out of control. Many 3rd world countries won't allow our garbage in their stores.
