I would walk or ride a bike before I got an EV.
Shut up.
Would I buy one in the current state of vehicles where they cost more than gas vehicles and you have to charge them and they are not really made to take long distance trips in? No.
Do I think a bunch of bullshite is told to consumers in order to try to convince them to buys EVs? Yes
Does it make sense to hate them so much that if the only form of transportation available to you is an EV you would deny it? No

Prorated. Minor detail there.
70%
A 10 year-old EV will be damn near unsellable.

I’m not seeing any near 70% at 10 years and that’s gen 1 model S. Those early batteries took a beating from poor thermal and load management.
I was looking at one a couple weeks ago with over 200k miles that’s at 95%.

I was just quoting the Tesla warranty.
All battery warranties guarantee at least 70 percent battery retention over the warranty period. Model S and Model X battery warranties last 8 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.Nov 8, 2023

The funny part will be when a Tesla owner has to shell out $3,000+ to change all 4 tires or change the battery at $15,000+.
What’s funny about that? They know the costs going in. Are you paying for any of it or are you just jealous because you can’t afford to make stupid decisions like this? Why does how another man spends his money bother you so much?

Then why are you so obviously insecure about your Teslas?

"I hear the worst part of driving an ev is having to tell your parents that you're gay"
Lame, are you a high school freshman?
Being gay has zero correlation to EV's, but you probably think Elon is one of the richest men in America due to his gayness.

Yeah I know. Just giving some real world perspective on how the older units are performing.

You have your own gas pumps at your homes? Interesting.
You’re experiencing tunnel vision. The tunnel is your ideology.
Let me tell you something, I work at a business that is located across the street from a large urban park. We have 3 charging stations with signs that indicate you must have a parking permit to use them.
Despite that, people who use the park will frequently fight over the e/v charging spots.
“You’ve been on the charger for two hours!”.
“What does that have to do with anything? There’s no time limit!”
“Where do you even live? This company lets me use it (We don’t actually) because I live around the corner!”
“I come to this park every damn day! What does it matter where I live!”
People, being stupid and lazy and selfish, will always fight over limited resources to greater or lesser degrees based on variables.
If you deny this, may the Lord bless your heart!

I 100% believe you, but I think that's an outlier, and I'm willing to bet lunch and drinks that the vehicle wasn't 8 years old.

It was a 2012. Mean capacity for a car that vintage and usage would be ~90%. That user was particularly prudent with managing his cycle count.

we always get new vehicles before 8 years is up anyway.
I'm with you bro on electric but you can't tell me that a new battery being on the horizon isn't affecting resale value. Just because you aren't the one buying the battery doesn't mean its not coming out of your pocket too.

I do think free public charging stations are mostly a novelty. If EVs ever become the main mode of transportation, I do think we'll actually see less free public use chargers. They aren't reliable enough to count on "needing" it to get somewhere. People like them because usually it's a primo parking spot and yeah its free charging so why not.
Well mostly see charging stations like we see gas stations, and otherwise everyone else is mostly charging at home anyway.
