I thought this was the coolest story when it came out. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why it go relatively very little coverage and still isn't that well known today

Killdozer is the mother fricking man. You can only push a man so far and like he said in his suicide note, he was reasonable until the local government wasn't. He had no recourse.

For those that don't know the story, this guy is a patriot and when the local government baytrayed him over and over and cost him his business, his house and everything in his life, he decided to fight back and in a literal way say frick the government. Drive that son of a bitch right through city hall. frick that city for what they did to him and frick the owners of the concrete factory for what they did and frick all the locals that were corrupted by the concrete factor. They all deserved what they got.

Killdozer is a really American hero.

Had to lower the cement and steel homemade composite armor over the tank and seal himself inside of it. Killdozer Guy knew when he got in, he was never getting out. Prepared for 1.5 years. Sent away for parts, mailed tapes and letters our just before he strapped in.

MF was 100% sold out for his mission, regardless of just how crazy it may have been. His level of dedication and focus is pretty wild.

That checks out - Killdozer incident was June 4 and Reagan passed June 5. Reagan's death and funeral were huge stories leading into the Summer convention coverage, with the Dems in late July and Reps in late August.

Where did he hide this beast while building it? Didn't anyone notice what he was building? A simple "hey Marvin, what's that you're building"?

My best guess is his muffler shop. Regardless, a guy who was that good at welding and owned 2 muffler shops probably had a mondo shop at home to work on the thing.

I kind of picture him like Milton from Office Space, apparently harmless, while muttering to others, for years, "Well, okay, but I could drive a bulldozer through town..."
