Unless there is a way for democrats to launder money through it, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

You don’t see how terrorist trying to shut down one of the world’s most important oil transit sites would cause problems for us?

We get very little, if any, oil from the Middle East. What we don't drill ourselves we buy mostly from Alberta. Why can't someone else (most notably those dependent upon Middle East oil like China and Japan) do the heavy lifting for once? Why is it that every time there's a conflict it falls on us to solve it?

Do y’all not remember what the frick happened in 2020 when the ports were shut down? Zeihan claimed that for every 1% decrease in shipping costs, volume increased 5%. The inverse would also hold true.

Having to move to smaller, faster, or armed shops would make shipping significantly more expensive, and at the same time reduce the volume of shipping possible. While America would eventually be ok, you’re looking at 2 decades of economic collapse.

No thank you.

Because no other nation in the world has a blue water navy to actually project power

Because we can, and because it provides us an oversized influence in economics, politics, and every other aspect of life

My point is that why is it that American blood and treasure has to be spilled anytime someone gets uppity anywhere on the planet? Europe and Asia are FAR more dependent upon the Med, Suez, and the Red Sea than we are. China, Japan, U.K., and France all have navies and have more at stake in that region than we do. In the grand scheme, we're not making or losing a significant amount of money off of the Middle East regardless of what happens. Europe and Asia's economies are utterly dependent upon it, so let them pony up and get some skin in the game for a change. I'm just not interested in losing a few ships and a few hundred sailors to ensure that a widget factory in Shanghai has power.

Maybe they should do it on their own while buying billions of dollars of equipment from us.

I agree but from Norway. I don’t believe Pedo Joe’s puppet masters can handle too many more skirmishes at one time around the world

If we sent more money to Ukraine this wouldn’t have happened.

Thank you for having balls.

These countries are but gnats to the US if we want them to be. That's the beauty of the US we don't brag or show our metal off, but we literally can do whatever we want whenever want. We are the single biggest logistical nightmare the world has ever seen. We can get boots anywhere with shocking speed if need be. But we don't even need to do that. The navy and airforce can frick these countries off without any additional help.

Again These countries are jokes. We haven't truly tried in a conflict since ww2. End of story. You are seeing a country with so much power we pardon countries daily from ultimate death we could bestow upon them with the snap of some old gross fingers.

Negative

We've wasted probably trillions of Americans hard earned tax dollars at this point trying to provide it. It will never work and they can all kill each other for all I care.

Every bit of this. If a country like Iran declared war on us, we would end up going to them for the fight instead of the other way around.
