right back at you teach. From the collegiate level to grammar schools, libtard SJW educators advocate that standards be lowered to accommodate the kids who can't keep up. Test scores are consistently reduced to the lowest denominator in an effort to help the dumber shits along. And they offer excuses about socio economic factors or personal trials as the reason those lower achieving students need a break.
Blow your myopic view of educators and education out of your arse. Its not accurate.

I did really well in school, and I'm big time against lengthening the school year. More time should be spent becoming well rounded in athletics, culture, and society instead of learning how to become a machine.
We function at higher levels and retain more when not burnt out anyway. I would advocate for more of a college like system for all kids, go about 8 weeks and take about 2 weeks off year round continually changing material.
I absolutely agree and many schools are trying different types of course schedules to replicate the collegiate 8 week model.
I grew up poor and in gov't owned housing but my school district was very well funded. I credit my parents and the school district for instilling the values that helped us work our way out of poverty. "School" had many shapes and forms depending on what type of person you were.
The Highest performers had demanding coursework producing IVY leaguers
Average students like me had a wide variety of topics and courses that covered many areas of interest including music, drama, and art. Not just classes but those courses would put on community events showcasing the talents of their students.
More blue collar students spent 1/2 day in school and the other 1/2 at a vocational training center teaching welding, auto repair, crane operations, and other technical skills.
Active Learning is the key. When i say more school days, I don't neccessarily mean more days sitting passively at a desk.
Most students spend their Summers sitting passively at home

The teachers in PhD fields of the humanities are all SJW, but they’re preaching to the choir, so why wouldn’t they be.
That's not the teachers who we're talking about here, as this all goes back to common core.
I know that my personal experiences don't mean that SJW teachers don't exist, but the post was about Lafayette parish. I can't imagine that there are a very large number of SJW teachers in that parish, but I can't say that from my own experience.

Still doesn't mean they don't exist and are influencing the standards and material you are subject to teaching.

Again, I don't know any teachers who feel this way. We're sick of the bar being lowered. Students are not held accountable for anything as it pertains to their education, and neither are parents. It's difficult to get many of our students to even bring materials to school. We, however, are not the ones who have created these enabling policies. That would be your elected officials and central office administrators.

no thanks. i'd rather my kids have a job when they grow up and be able to provide for their own families.

The normal way people learned how to do math was that students learned the foundational concepts, and each student adapted their own methods to solve problems.
Common core requires shortcuts instead of fundamentals. Students are punished for not using the shortcuts. That gets rid of the opportunity kids have to let their minds solve problems the way they naturally would. When you have complex problems, the kids are fricked, because they have to break them down into many different shortcuts instead of running through the fundamentals and solving.
Everyone knew this was bad. It isn't a shocking revelation

What about the ones that don't?
Places like Finland are going toward less structure, less classtime with better results. I don't think increased class time will make a big difference. Education encompasses way more than classrooms.

Classrooms are for mesmerizing neccissary fundamentals to get through life. Actual education comes from real world application and experience.

And I run them so congrats on writing my fees.
Also just because you install equipment for Verizon doesn't mean you are some integral part of its operation
