I live in a two story condo.

Away from home: I turn the A/C completely off

At night: between 71-69

How morbidly obese are some of y’all? 62 degrees is as laughable as 82

That’s not it at all.

frick I’ll sweat whether it’s 100 outside or 0 degrees.

The problem is the energy companies have the resources to fix this shite and they don’t

got this email from entergy today

quote:

We are introducing a voluntary opportunity for you to keep costs lower and save money by conserving energy when demand is high.

Weather events such as heat waves and cold fronts affect supply and demand for electricity. When demand is high, Entergy must operate additional power plants and purchase energy from other sources which can lead to higher costs. A Peak Event refers to a few times each year in which electricity demand is expected to be particularly high.

You can help by voluntarily using less energy when notified of an upcoming Peak Event. By taking simple steps like adjusting your thermostat, you are doing your part to help keep costs lower. There is no obligation on your part, but rather an opportunity to help conserve energy for you and your community.

quote:

How to participate?

Peak Events are based upon anticipated high usage of electricity, and typically happen four or five times a year. You will receive advance notice by email or text the day before a scheduled Peak Event.

Reducing your energy usage during a Peak Event is totally voluntary, but if you participate, we recommend that you reduce use of large appliances and heating or air conditioning units during specified times the following day, typically in the afternoon.

If you participate, you will receive a follow-up notification a few days after the Peak Event providing information on the amount of energy you reduced as well as the amount reduced in the community.

Thanks for doing your part to help.

Nah I'm good. I'd eat ramen noodles during the summer before I put my thermostat on 78.

My nuts are sweating just thinking about walking into an 85 degree house and then sleeping in 78 degrees.

It’s been so hot lately if I set it to 76 when I’m gone for the day my AC can’t catch up and when I get home at 5pm to set it to 73 it only gets down to 75 by the time I go to bed at 10pm.

The heat index has been 100 these past three days well into 10pm.

If you live in south and do this now what is the temp inside your condo usually after being gone day before you turn AC back on and how long does it take to get to 71-69?
