Supposedly the Dularge overpass in Houma was originally designed to go over the Houma Navigational Canal too. Edwards bought the land where the overpass comes down and had the bridge redesigned to not go over the Houma Navigational Canal and instead on a tract of land that he owned.
That's all Hearsay and I have not clue if it's true or not.
That shite happened and still happens on the damn time. Edwards was a POS crook, but that story there (if true) sure as hell ain’t out of the ordinary.

I know a guy that was in Angola on death row then got a free pass when the death penalty was banned by the feds for awhile. Ended up with life but go out after serving something like 20 years because his dad paid EWE 60,000 dollars.

didn’t some former client of EWE’s brother get an early release and then show up at his office and blow him away?

I'd heard some rumors of a pleasure island he had offshore with legendary parties.
Wanted to ask him about it when I saw him at Ruth's Chris for lunch a few years back but I was too chickenshit.

He hit on my mother back in the 70’s at a political event, she told him, “my husband is standing right here,” to which he replied, “so”….
I worked at Morning Call, in Metry, my senior year in HS, ‘82, he and a buddy would randomly show up to get beignets and coffee.

I do.
But you gotta get it from Nick Saben after all it’s his story to tell.

I heard one night he walked right up to the bar, sat down, and started talking to his Rolex until the bartender (cute little thing) walked up and asked him what he was doing.
He told her that his watch told him secrets about people.
Eager to play along, the bartender asked what it said about her.
He said it told her she wasn’t wearing any underwear.
“BUT I AM!” She said, moderately offended.
“Oh shite,” He said. “Looks like it’s an hour fast.”

I seriously don't understand how anybody voted for him but I guess being extroverted and having an accent is more important to boomer voters than being competent and non corrupt.
Everyone should remember this comment when they vote. Candidates can sound good and have an R or D (whichever you prefer) and be terrible for the state.
