I get that but I’ve “relocated” so many times in my youngish life that I don’t really want to do it again. The state of New Orleans is kind of forcing my hand though.

New Orleans has too many problems and nothing is being done to address a single one. Hate to say it but the city isn't going to get better as outside investment has dried up and insurance costs have become prohibitively expensive.

agree. honestly the crime isn't even that big of a deal to me. it's literally everything else that makes feel like i have to leave. don't get me wrong though, the crime isn't great.

LA just isn't a great place for white collar careers unless you're involved in the plants/heavy industry/industrial construction or you are a personal injury attorney.

20 years ago I had had a 6-figure salary, an 8 year old and a 6 year old. I owned my 3 bedroom home free and clear. I was 43. My wife got pregnant so we bought a 5/3 that cost twice as much as our house. I got fired the day before the closing and my wife was 5 months pregnant. Getting fired was the best thing that ever happened to me and my family.
