Your wife sounds like a horrible woman. She should have tried to help you.

Hmmmm, I wonder if when you started get buzzed you may have taken a couple of Xanax. I take Xanax on the weekends and drink on it on the regular. Not much of a difference in my behavior except maybe a little less inhibited. I usually don't pound shots while I am on it but I may drink a bottle of wine or 2.

When did the xanax come into play?

That wasn't Xanax bro

I take Xanax frequently and have beers with them.

All they do is make you sleepy and relaxed

That has been my experience for the last 4 years. It never made me blackout before.

This recipe is an advertisement for a terrible night on the town. May as well add melatonin, chamomile tea and a pillow because there will be no fun, it's lights out.

I am on an XR dose. It stays in my system. I have been able to drink for years and never had anything like this happen.

Are you sure you didn't take an Ambien???? Seriously that sounds more like a reaction to Ambien.

I also take Xanax. However, I had a glass of wine before a particularly long flight and experienced total blackout until the next day. Thinking it was a fluke, I did it again several years later and had the same experience. I don’t drink when I take Xanax.

I had a similar reaction to what OP describes with Ambien and about a bottle of wine or so.

It was Xanax. My doctor said that it was likely due to the timing and the fact that I had not metabolized the drug fully... something along those lines. She said that I have it so built up into my system that it combined with the alcohol, sent me over the edge. Either way, I'm getting off of this crap medicine because I NEVER want that to happen again. Like I said, I've been on it for years. I have had plenty of drinks but this one time it nailed me. I'm happy to be alive and thankful I didn't kill anyone else or end up in jail. Do not take this combination at all.

My ex wife used to take a Xanax and mix a pretty stiff rum and diet coke each night before bed. Did it every single night for over a year. I would walk into the bedroom and she'd be passed out with lights on, tv blaring, and drink still in her hand. Then she would pop a few adderall the next morning and repeat the cycle.

Needless to say, I now have full custody of our children.

Dude, Xanax stays in your system for a while. You could have issues taking s pill one night and then drinking another.

I just don't understand how this could happen. I can take xanax with lots of alcohol and I get sleepy at best. Not saying I should or anyone should but I've never done anything crazy. You don't even mention taking the xanax, when was that? Did you take a whole bar or just a piece? That makes a big difference.

I see that you have been taking Xanax for years. You surely drink from time to time. This has never happened? Are you absolutely sure no one put something in your drink. This just doesn't seem like a normal response to someone who takes Xanax on a daily basis, even if they drink with it.

I had a bad reaction to some medicine I take after back surgery. Drank 6-8 beers during Al vs UGA game, had a total blackout. Dont remember last half of game... Lucky I was home.
