I mean, you could have at least read the rest of my post where I discussed pricing of actual trucks. Not every truck being sold right now is a $75k plus top end model.
facts. the dealers put high end models out on their lots that cost way more than you need to spend if you are just looking for a more basic, capable truck. you dont need a king ranch or an LTZ, unless you just want to spend that much for the trim level.

at least they got rid of that horrible slanted bodyline the first ones had. Yeesh

the Ridgelines always looked like the Chevy Avalanche's retarded little brother. and the Avalanches look retarded too.

Level it out & put some decent tires on it might not be too bad

I have a 2019 and love the way it drives. I'm not under the delusion that it's a heavy duty work vehicle but I don't need that so it works well for me. It's a great daily commuter vehicle.
Monday through Friday I drive a full sized company truck and I think it's a piece of shite by comparison. I've driven all the American brand full sized trucks and the Ridgeline is a much more comfortable vehicle to drive IMO

It’s basically a Jap El Camino.

why can’t they just make a normal looking truck? these ridgelines have always been funny looking

Well, at least this one sorta looks like a truck; an ugly truck to be sure, but at least a truck.
My thoughts exactly. It's the first Ridgeline that I might consider owning. Especially with Toyota going vagina green and downsizing to 6 (Tundra) and 4 (Tacoma) turbos.

By that logic - not every Honda Ridgeline sold is the $46,000 top end model either.

I mean, you could have read the post I responded to talking about a $46k to $50k Ridgeline specifically, but I guess you're just intent on trying to get me on something in this thread

GM made the El Camino with a 400 horsepower V8, a 6 speed manual, and rear wheel drive until recently. It was the pickup version of the excellent high performance Chevy SS that was sold here for a while (car enthusiasts know about that vehicle). The El Camino/Utes are insanely fast - probably dangerously fast for younger drivers. They just know Americans wouldn't like it so they keep it in the Australian Market as the Holden Ute. And the lack of a back seat would mean limited appeal in the US market too. You'd never get something like that insured affordably in a place like Louisiana.
I doubt it would pass emissions restrictions in the USA right now anyways. Chevy have to put a 2.0L turbo four cylinder in it to make it work with modern federal regulatory requirements. And somehow add a few hundred pounds of weight for two extra doors, a back seat, and an automatic transmission. It would not be the same.
Kind of surprised the Ridgeline still has a big natural aspirated V6 engine. Even the Silverado and F-150s are coming with smaller displacement turbo DI motors these days, with manufacturers claiming that their dual port injection or elaborate PVC system can eliminate the inevitable carbon build up problems with that configuration. Old Honda V6 engines, Chevy V8s, and pretty much any naturally aspirated Toyota engine will still be running in 15 years if they aren't abused. I don't know if we can say the same about the Ford Ecoboosts (especially the smaller ones) or the new Ram turbo I-6, at least not without the owners committing to very expensive overhauls.

It should be, it’s not built like a truck.

You've lost your man car with this statement. Only thing the ridgeline doesn't have is a set of truck nuts!

The Ridgeline pickup should be more popular than it is.
Well it's not a truck so...
quote:
It offers more payload than a Ford Raptor
By a whopping 40 lbs. That's not enough difference and people certainly aren't cross-shopping these vehicles. Meanwhile a non-Raptor F-150 has over 3,000 lbs of payload capacity.

better fuel economy than any gas powered half ton truck,
Has less power and less towing and payload capacity than any gas powered half-ton truck.

It's very comfortable for highway driving and can tow a party barge easily.
Every fullsize truck is comfortable these days. Also, has someone that has towed a small boat behind a Ridgeline, no, they certainly do not tow a party barge easily and the fuel economy plummets when towing anything more that 2,000 lbs.

Because the ridgeline shares a platform with something they already produce. They manufacturers don’t just snap their fingers and produce another model.
The short answer is $. It’s a lot cheaper to produce the ridgeline than it would be to design and build a dedicated truck platform from the ground up.

every single one of these honda trucks comes from the factory with one of two bumper stickers
