Ole Miss figured it out. So can you.
We're not limited to 10 acres and don't act like we're high class.

Firepits and other open flame devices
The chances of firepits being used in 95 degree heat are slim to none.

Our church fair starts tomorrow - as of yesterday afternoon organizers were told by a fire marshal that despite having onsite firemen both days, we could not have outdoor fryers, smokers or BBQ grills that use charcoal or propane.
Plan B is to smoke a couple dozen pork butts offsite (no firemen on watch unlike at the fair) then bring them for pulling and serving. We're locating electric grills for burgers and dogs. Located some electric fryers for fries and seafood (just as likely as a propane fryer to start a grease fire?).
Hopefully this latest announcement changes the protocol. I suspect the NOLA Caribbean Experience this weekend will have charcoal grills going.

Realistic, and it's not a schtick, it's just... actual.
Sorry the truth hurts.

electric griddle perhaps? We already know so many people out there with generators anyways. I hope they don't say no generators next. Lots of people will not go out there then.
Good for the rest of us who want to find parking, but bad for the income of the surrounding areas and the school.

You lose a big selling point of being Catholic if you get rid of the fish fry.

Everything around me here in SE BR is green as hell right now. So yeah, I’d say it was enough.
We're in luck! The Drought Monitor comes out every Thursday. We've been provided a handy dandy way to compare two weeks.
Let's go to the tape....
People who can't read and/or comprehend a damn press release sure as shite can't be expected understand how drought works.

Final word from the City of NOLA regarding our church fair this weekend-
Propane-fueled smoker is allowed.
Propane-fueled fryers are out, but electric fryers are fine.
Charcoal-grilled burgers, dogs and sausage are out. Time to scrounge up a big electric griddle.
It's COVID deja-vu, like we're stuck in Phase 2 while the rest of the state gets a taste of sanity.
