Apparently it’s all a set up according to T Bob and Eric Asher.
WWL needs to show their hand

I mean if Seth did do such things regarding the tweet, in what world is he to go around and confide to people that he in fact is behind the tweet....?

Per Eric Asher:
Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I have no idea what happened. But before you jump on the WWL radio bandwagon. Let me say this there is a long trail of former on air personalities, sales persons and station employees that have been grounded into dust by the management of that station. Hard working people who gave everything to that station. They are your neighbors family & friends. Some of you still listen to them over the airwaves. The longtime management of that station are not honorable people. I am friends with Seth Dunlap. I believe him when he tells me he had nothing to do with the homophobic tweet. Maybe in time I will be proven wrong for backing a person I believe is honorable. But I doubt it. I fully expected Entercom & WWL Radio to go nuclear & they did. They are a powerful corporation that has the best attorneys in the country on retainer. They went for the jugular.
Let me ask this how many of you have not had to deal with financial trouble in their lives? (Remember the aftermath of Katrina?) That is not an indictment on the character of Seth.
That leak was meant to smear the integrity of Seth & change public opinion.
My question is can they prove that Seth is responsible for the tweet or is only possible to narrow down that according to the IP address & that the tweet came from within the building that WWL Radio is headquartered. That is a legit question that needs to be answered. Seth took a polygraph & passed. Have WWL employees who were in the building at the time of the tweet was posted passed a polygraph? Should Seth allow his phone & laptop to be forensically inspected by an independent party? Absolutely! Has that happened? I don't know. As far as asking for 1.8 million dollars in a settlement. Does it seem excessive? Maybe. But how many lawyers negotiating a settlement start low? Law enforcement is involved so we will see where this investigation goes. But based on the past history of the management of WWL Radio. I will only believe an independent evaluation and conclusion of the facts of this case. Until then I stand behind Seth Dunlap .

Picking a hell of a hill to die on.
No amount of evidence is going to change this guys mind. Especially if the evidence is on a technical level that he doesn't understand.

Asher absolutely despises WWL and says it regularly.

I have no problem with Eric Asher’s take. That’s a reasonable post and opinion for a friend to have

This is like a litmus test for someone pushing a dishonest POV.

Ok, but if it's proven, he should be able to agree that Dunlap should be facing 10-20 years in jail.

Has Lester Earl chimed in? He had some strong opinions in the first thread.
do you remember what I said when someone said he might have done it himself?
I mean, i can find it if you want.
My thoughts on the subject stand. It wasn't so much about Seth, as it was a general thought liberal use of the word f@g.
As far as my replies to you, it was because you obviously never actually read his letter to Brees. Cause you kept citing things that he never said
Posted on 9/26/19 at 9:05 pm to Chad504boy
Even if he didn’t send the tweet (which he did) it still doesn’t justify him acting like a little bitch and asking for 1.8 million dollars. Be a fricking man and blow it off. Seth is a pussy looking for a pay day and that’s all there is to it.

I can't agree. The polygraph points he makes are retarded. And, his question about whether they've only narrowed it down to the building is also retarded.

Untrue. I read it, and told you I read it.
And, now we know (assuming WWL isn't lying) that the letter was a part of a scheme to extort money. It wasn't real. And, that's why it read so emotional and illogical. It was fake. I was right.

This whole story has seemed weird from the get go. I have hung out with Seth probably a dozen times and he’s a great guy. However, I have no idea why he decided to do this.
WWL has presented the evidence to their employees and even some of the closest people to Seth that initially were shouting from the rooftops to stick up for him have since deleted every post that was honoring him. He’s done

Money makes people do crazy shite. Sometimes people have an addiction that you don’t know about even when you hang out.

I'm sure it's a combination of today's activist social justice culture (thinking he's doing something positive even if he's lying) combined with a greedy desire to steal a lot of money (which apparently he needed).
What we've seen lately pretty across the spectrum of the left is a willingness to let their specific identity (gay, black, atheist, etc.) overrule rationality. Combine that with desperation and you have a mix that will force people to do things they normally wouldn't.

You should have just said congratulations for completely eviscerating your argument. You're down to an ad hominem attack.
I don't think many here (certainly not me) care that he's gay. I think a lot of people here care that he pretended that he was persecuted, crafted a plan to extort money, and tried to execute said plan...allegedly.
If this information about him sending the tweet is true, he deserves double digit years in prison.

WWL didn’t leak anything. They filed a police report which was subject to a FOIA request.

It’s not an indictment of his character, but shows a potential motive for extorting $1.8 million from WWL. Also, equating someone being in debt to creditors to people who literally lost their entire livelihoods in the storm is pretty idiotic, and is an obvious attempt to further paint Dunlap as a victim.

Seth took a polygraph & passed.
His lawyer alleges he took a polygraph test (preemptively).
quote:
That is a legit question that needs to be answered
I thought the question was originally: “what person sent that homophobic tweet?” WWL thinks they’ve answered that question. Why does the question now change simply because Asher, T-Bob, and Nick Underhill don’t like the answer?
quote:
Let me say this there is a long trail of former on air personalities, sales persons and station employees that have been grounded into dust by the management of that station.
What does this have to do with the results of WWL’s internal investigation? If it’s such a horrible place to work, why was Dunlap still there. By all accounts he was a terrific on-air personality.
quote:
I fully expected Entercom & WWL Radio to go nuclear & they did.
WWL and Entercom has very little exposure simply because of that tweet. Simply being called a slur in the work place is not grounds for a harassment/discrimination lawsuit, seven-figure settlement, or any settlement for that matter. Seth wasn’t terminated and WWL apparently allowed him to take a leave of absence while they investigated the incident. Any settlement they might have reached would have been WWL’s attempt to mitigate the PR damages, not to avoid a multi-million dollar judgment in court because of an isolated incident of name calling. That’s simply not how harassment/discrimination suits work.
If WWL and Entercom filed a false police report or publicly defamed Dunlap with these new allegations, they’re subject to much greater exposure than they’d be simply because of the original tweet. They had nothing to gain by falsely reporting this information. Everything to lose.
Should be interesting to see what is made public in the next few days.

You aren’t really being reasonable
I'm not being reasonable?
Nobody gives credence to polygraphs. And, certainly not over forensic evidence.
And, it takes a real misunderstanding to ask the question about IP Address. The information WWL presumably has is based on their internal infrastructure. So, they already know it's on their network. They don't need an IP address for that. And, the report is that they have the specific device id that made the network request. So, the comment also has to ignore that.
But, yeah, I'm just an unreasonable homophobe.
Look. Anything is possible. If WWL is lying about all of this, I hope Dunlap takes them to the cleaners. And, they should be absolutely hammered in that case.
On the other end, if Dunlap did what is alleged, he needs to go away for a long time.

POS trying to extort his company bc he had a spending problem. Wow. Comes out on the air as gay and immediately after does this. That must have been the plan to begin with
