When they can, they have WWII veterans working there to help the crowds. Talk to them if one's there. They're pretty fricking awesome.
They’re also trying to get as many vets stories on recording as possible. So if any of you know any vets who are still alive see if they’d be willing to sit down and share their story so our children and children’s children can hear them.

I went in June for the first time. It was okay. After going to the Imperial War Museums in England it was a tad underwhelming tbh.

With only 4 hours I recommend just picking one room and really going deep into. You’ll get way more out of it and definitely go back

I think the WW2 is comparable to the main IWM in London, admittedly, there is nothing comparable to IWM Duxford, with the airfield, American Air Museum, and Hall of Land Warfare...
that all being said, IWM's mission goes far beyond WW2...

How did NO land the WW2 museum anyways?
I think it was because of Stephen Ambrose.
Stephen Ambrose was indeed a major driving force behind the museum.

Yeah Duxford really impressed me.
The tanks at Bobbington really hit the spot for me though.

I love the National WW2 museum. Whether it be a new expansion or a whole new museum itself, I would like to see a Cold War Museum.
