We're gonna kick off this thread with something quite rare... ***IMPACT Slammiversary Spoilers... Skip ahead to other bolded section if you don't want Slammiversary spoiled for you***
At 11 PM God's Time (that's Central time) Friday night, midnight Eastern time... the Good Brothers of Doc (not Luke anymore) Gallows & "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson made official what we all already knew... they had indeed signed a contract with IMPACT Wrestling
That was just the start of a long day of anticipation after IMPACT had perfectly taken advantage of the "Black Wednesday" April 15 releases by WWE... as all of their non-compete clauses with WWE had expired... and used it to promote the company's top show of the year, Slammiversary. I imagine Slammiversary will pop one of its biggest PPV buy numbers ever thanks to this tactic.
What it did lose was perhaps the biggest name of the bunch when Miro... aka Rusev... popped positive with COVID-19. He was heavily rumored to be the 4th guy in the IMPACT World Championship match, which IMPACT had to go ahead and change... and what a nice little bait & switch they pulled
So here's all that did transpire at Slammiversary
IMPACT's tag team division got a huge jolt right out of the gate... not just because we knew the Good Bros. are now in the company... but 1 of its most popular tag teams returned as Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley reformed the Motor City Machine Guns in the show's opening segment. tMCMGs will get a tag title match this Tuesday night on TV
The woman who was going to be the face of AEW's women's division... but walked out of the company almost literally the night before it got started... Smiley Kylie Rae became the #1 contender to the IMPACT Knockouts Championship
Heath Slater... who just 2 weeks ago was Claymored to hell by Drew McIntyre and then beat up by Dolph Ziggler... then went into the ring and cut a promo... beat up a nobody... reunited with Rhino backstage... and was then kicked out of the building by Scott D'Amore but then Rhino promised that Heath would be on the weekly show Tuesday
2 other former WWE people already on the IMPACT roster... Sami Callahan... who was known as Solomon Crowe from his time in NXT circa 2015...
and Ken Shamrock... who was known as being the special guest referee of the greatest double turn in wrestling history at Wrestlemania XIII... he's still jacked and could still kill me if he wanted to
"The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo... yes another April 15 WWE casualty but since she was only on a NXT contract her non-compete ended after just 30 days so she's already been on IMPACT TV... won the IMPACT Knockouts Championship to end the long reign of Jordynne Grace
Then the main event... the mystery 4th man proved to be... former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann who has already been in IMPACT for a while and was returning from injury. But Swann was just a red herring as Eric Young (the leader of the wonderful SAnitY group in NXT that never caught on up on the main roster) made his return to IMPACT and made the main event a 5-man elimination match for the vacant IMPACT Championship... a match won by Eddie Edwards
After the match ended... Edwards was assaulted... but here to make the save is the Good Brothers, Gallows & Anderson to stand tall as we leave the arena
But that wasn't the last surprise of the night... as Ethan Carter, III... EC3... was shown in the back and is now being promoted for this Tuesday night's episode.***End of IMPACT Slammiversary Spoilers***
IMPACT did a great job using circumstances to get eyes on their product... and now after a show that's been labeled a true success... it has some momentum finally heading into their weekly show on AXS TV... yes it's a real channel, G
Now for tonight's WWE The Horror Show at Extreme Rules card from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fla. (and a random swamp somewhere nearby). I'm sure TRC will be here shortly to assign points.

Yes the way to win an Eye for an Eye match is the "literally" pluck your opponent's eye from out of its socket... CGI will be heavily involved in this match

oh... and the Good Brothers & AJ Styles both did a good job drumming up noise leading up to last night as all 3 out and out called Paul Heyman a liar and accused him of getting Gallows & Anderson added to the list of Black Wednesday releases
saying if it wouldn't have been for Heyman... Gallows & Anderson would still be in WWE today

and since we do have the "Eye for an Eye" match tonight...
it should be pointed out that at Slammiversary last night... Moose tried to force Tommy Dreamer's eyes into a load of thumb tacks

so here's my picks
Bray Wyatt via pin
Drew McIntyre via pin if regular match... if ladder/TLC match... then Drew just grabs the belt to win
Asuka via submission
Bayley via pinfall
Seth Rollins loses his eye
Apollo Crews via pin
My reasonings:
I just have this weird feeling that the swamp fight won't be a pinfall type match... it'll just be who's left standing... I'm gonna go Bray Wyatt gets the win (I guess I'll say by pinfall for bonus purposes) so we have the climax of this story at SummerSlam when it's finally Fiend vs. Braun for the title
I'm definitely seeing things both ways in this Mysterio/Rollins story. In a gory story like this... it screams the babyface should win and further Rollins descent into mental madness as he tries to come to grips of being the "Monday Night Messiah"... but Rey's contract status is questionable which should make the call for a Rollins wins easy... I'll go Rey b/c if this is 1 of his final nights with the company... he should get a respectable sendoff... not "losing an eye"
Bray Wyatt via pin
Drew McIntyre via pin if regular match... if ladder/TLC match... then Drew just grabs the belt to win
Asuka via submission
Bayley via pinfall
Seth Rollins loses his eye
Apollo Crews via pin

Anderson and Gallows brought back their old Talkin Shop podcast and said they regretted not signing with AEW last year. They said they basically had a verbal agreement in place to sign but then backed out when HHH offered them more money than they could refuse. Apparently Jericho is still pissed and that's probably why they had to go to Impact this time.
There's a few notes out on the swamp fight. It was filmed on Thursday, its supposed to be around 20-30 minutes long, there's spots involving an alligator and a snake, and the creative was basically all Bray. Vince wasn't involved. Ending is said to be inspired by Friday the 13th so maybe Braun chops off Mama Wyatt's head. No word on Rowan showing up but maybe they're keeping that a secret.

Wyatt Swamp Fight - Non-Title Match
WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt via pin (if that's how's you win a swamp match)
WWE Championship Match - Stipulation TBA
Drew McIntyre (c) via pin vs. Dolph Ziggler
Raw Women's Championship Match
Asuka (c) via submission vs. Sasha Banks
Smackdown Women's Championship Match
Bayley (c) via pin vs. Nikki Cross I do suspect tonight is going to be the night that leads to them turning on each other after dropping the tag titles soon.
Eye for an Eye Match
Seth Rollins vs. Rey Mysterio, Jr.
WWE United States Championship Match
Apollo Crews (c) DQ is obvious... hopefully this isn't a 2 min match vs. MVP
I am not calling it but if they are going to do the Otis giving his contract to Mandy angle I think this could be the first night it's possible.
Here's another thought, what if a champion wrestles in the RR again and after taking a beating Otis decides to cash in during the match? (Doing it this way would get him the title without making Drew/Braun/Bray look weak.)

considering all the shots of the "Wyatt Family" used in the build of this match include Rowan but not Harper (obviously he's now in AEW)... plus Wyatt's mention of his ability to "raise the dead"... I would not at all be surprised if Rowan makes an appearance in this match

Braun over Bray. How else do we get Das Fiend?
Drew claymore over Dolph because the last time Dolph won a big match was 2014.
Asuka over Sasha because of my sexual fantasies.
Bayley over Nikki - see above.
Seth over Rey because Rey is out the door soon.
MVP over Apollo to form a new faction. He won’t have the belt for long.

I'm trying so hard to care but I've lost interest a bit. Just no interesting story lines right now besides the magic Bray always pulls out ;/

The talent is there in the E.
The creative is not.
If the E would do some pro Wrasslin from time to time, it would be easier on Creative. We deserve better than that karaoke segment.
