Yea they can circle back to that with Inner Circle v The Elite....but hell at this point they are going to have to build the Elite as a group back up to make that mean much.

Will The Elite even exist much longer? There's obviously long term stories developing with Omega and Page breaking up at some point and Cody possibly starting some Horseman type of group that would likely be heel. The eventual Bucks vs FTR match could play into that as well. There doesn't seem to be any long term plans for Jericho or Moxley right now though.
At least AEW has that going for that. I can't think of any long term plans for WWE's top stars right now. The only match reported for Summerslam is Drew vs Orton. Other than that there's no telling where they're going with Braun, Bray, KO, Rollins, AJ, etc.

doesn't have to be Inner Circle vs. Elite... obviously those 2 factions could be involved
but it could be the rumored new 4 Horsemen involved (Cody, FTR, Shawn Spears)... could be the main players of the Dark Order (Brodie Lee, Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, Colt Cabana)... could involve Death Triangle (when PAC to get to the US again from Britain)
there are a million different ways to go around that

Wrestling in general suffers from the same problem that the NFL and MLB does. Everyone wants to play it safe. There’s no variety. There are no gambles.
I would say that WWE has a personality problem but they really don’t. They have a problem with promoting their personalities. EC3 has a great gimmick and a great look (no homo), but Vince wouldn’t use him. Was the guy going to be the face of the company? No probably not, but he should have been a solid mid card guy who was occasionally in the main event picture.
Another problem is depth. Where are the jobbers? You basically have mid card guys and then main eventers but there are no real enhancement talents. You’re oversaturating your weekly shows with your top talent. Hart, Michaels, The Undertaker, The Rock, and Austin weren’t wrestling week in and week out in the 90s and early 2000s.
You need your jobbers to be fed to your mid card and superstars. That stops 50/50 booking. That allows you to tell stories with your personalities. That allows you to build anticipation when your superstars collide. This is why guys like The Revival throwing a hissy fit about not being the top tag team guys was just stupid to me. Everything about them screams enhancement talent. There’s nothing great or unique about your personalities or look, there’s nothing groundbreaking or exceptional about your ring work. You’re solid guys. Collect a couple hundred thousand dollars a year to take mostly losses on Raw/Smackdown, maybe 50/50 at house shows, have a tag team title run or two, and be happy.
The New Day have the sauce, Viking Raiders have the sauce, the Usos have the sauce, and The Street Profits have the sauce (smoke?). The Revival didn’t.

I read about the end of the swamp fight and it sounds awesomely stupid

It appears as though MSUDawg made picks in the Smackdown thread at 5am this morning.
So...whoever is in charge, might want to check that out.

My official picks:
Bray wins via pin
Drew retains via pin (if there is some submission only stipulation, then he retains via submission)
Bayley retains via pin
Asuka retains via submission
Seth wins by plucking an eye out I guess
Apollo retains via DQ.
I want to say MVP wins but I just don’t see him winning the title. I believe it’s Lashley’s to win.

Those are some great points that I firmly agree with.....the fact that we don't have jobbers that can go in 10 minute matches on the main shows anymore is crazy....hell it's how the Hardy's got started.

Thanks! I posted my picks here a few hours ago. Probably not going to be able to watch it until Wednesday though.
For the added matches...
Orton via pin vs Big Show
The New Day vs. Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura win the titles (Tables match, SD Tag Team Championship)

The Swamp Fight is non-title?
Braun pins Bray
Drew pins Dolph
Sasha pins Asuka
Bayley pins Nikki
Rey pulls out the eye of The Messiah
Apollo pins MVP
Isn't there a tag-team title match?

WWE has added Murphy vs. Kevin Owens to the Kickoff Show
I'm going KO via pin
I'm going KO via pin

I'll go...
KO via pin...
just so rt3 doesn't steal extra points.

I'll also say New Day puts Cesaro through a table.

the SD Tag Titles are not on the Extreme Rules preview page on WWE.com
but in case they are... I'm actually gonna say Cesaro/Nakamura win... Cesaro puts Kofi through the table
Show/Orton has always been for Raw on Monday
and the Bar Fight between Sheamus & Jeff Hardy was moved to Smackdown on Friday night

Add Murphy vs Owens and the SD TT title match to the OP.
If they aren’t included in your initial post, don’t edit. Add them to a new post.
New Day retain with Big E putting Cesaro through a table.
