WWE Saudi C.J. 2010 "PPV" Aftermath

With everything flowing out this probably deserves its own thread.
As predicted more and more is coming out. In hindsight the article below would likely explain why the women's match felt so awkward. You had someone who served and was deployed by the military to the middle east and Nattie who has been around long enough to know how things can go sideways if you cross Vince. Aside from the official reason, I've read 2-3 different accounts. The most favorable to the company/Saudi line was the gas man got a call and had to go home which led to the delay which then put the pilots over their allowable hours to fly...almost as implausible as the official stated reason. That report was still concerning because in it the report stated they were taken back to the hotel and essentially put on hotel arrest for 24 hours. That jives with why that plane took the shortest route ot of Saudi airspace.
I know a part of Jericho turning his back on Vince was over Vince paying him way less than others were paid on that first show. If Vince has been stiffed that much money he's not going to be able to afford to pay JTTSs like Cesaro/Harper/etc to job/sit at home. This gives Jericho and Cody a huge advantage if they need more "mainstream name" guys to help build momentum.
In the end I think Vince calls in a favor from the big guy at 1600 and the Saudi prince is forced to pay up and amend the deal to require he prepay for future events at least 6 months in advance/when they are booked.
If you have stock, when the market opens would be the best time to dump it... if you don't, short sell the hell out of it.

Nope.
After some sensationalizing, Mohammad Bin Salman attacks Vince McMahon at next Wrestlemania.
Bonus, Trump watches intently from the audience as it happens.
Book it.

If Vince played chicken with a Saudi Crown Prince while a huge chunk of the roster was on the ground over there, he is crazier than I thought. And not in a good way.
This set of Saudi PPVs has been sketchy as hell from the word go and getting stiffed on payment has to be a sign that they probably need to void the remaining ones unless they get paid up front for the entire rest of the deal.
Then they will still have to overpay talent to go back after this clusterfrick.

I read all of that and am still confused as hell. I feel like there is parts of the story that were left out. Like you picked up in the middle, without telling the beginning of the story.
Also felt like you were talking about multiple different things in one post. All around confusing.

I can guarantee you, there will be no more SA shows, not because of an alteration to the deal, but that the entire WWE roster will refuse to go no knowing the old man will desert them in a country that is more than willing to kill folks for ridiculous reasons.

The Crown Prince fricked Vince by stiffing them on millions for the previous PPV then kept most of the talent stuck in country for a while after Vince played chicken with broadcasting this PPV.
I don’t see this ending well for anyone involved, especially if they ever set foot in SA again.

He doesn't need Trump for this. Negotiate a deal and if they don't deposit the money, don't go. It's that simple.

Somebody needs to shoot and fast. That's the only thing that's going to get us the full story. I've read 4 or 5 plausible accounts of what happened. I still go back to the flight plan they filed with the Saudis vs the fastest way out of their airspace route that they took.

What is going on? What happened irl?
I find the behind the scenes real drama in wrestling more interesting and entertaining than anything that they have had on television in the past 18 years.

Posted on 11/4/19 at 7:45 pm to Brosef Stalin
Yeah, I don’t see this going over well with anyone who got stuck in SA, except possibly AJ Styles.
