I think some of your complaints are just a result of increasing affluence.
More people can afford to go to the beach, more people can afford to travel somewhere 15-20 miles away on their day off (or 2-3 hours away).
It’s kind of like the arguments from people who live in desirable cities and complain about the number of tourists. What was once a rare luxury is now relatively commonplace.
It’s even more extreme if we are talking about desirable cities abroad.
Europe’s population is declining but touristic areas are more popular than ever. This isn’t overpopulation but a) increasing affluence and b) I think what Tigger was saying about the organization of the population

What deep concept did you espouse that I missed?
Thanks for proving my point about your lack of reading comprehension- since if you go back and re-read my post, anyone with half a brain can see that i was referring to PAST THREADS ON THIS VERY SITE where people discussed population control and too many people being concentrated in one place, or how only “certain demographics” should be allowed to have large numbers of kids, et al…. I feel truly sorry for you that you felt the need to come after me as if those were my thoughts.. please go bitch and moan somewhere else.. or just stay here and do it, i dont really care .

I know what women want. They want to elevate their emotional journey through life to the center of every person in their circle. It’s not narcissism, it’s solipsism. A man sees his emotions the same as his words; as soon as he utters them, they vanish into the ether. A man realizes the transitory irrelevance of his emotions. To him, they don’t even really exist. That bridge exists. This hamburger exists. A woman is highly likely to elevate her emotions above all else. And I mean ALL else. Her emotions are not only her reality, they must become Yours.
This is why from now on I only date dedicated Buddhists, lol. So we can live somewhere other than in her head.

Freud is definitely still prominent in people's minds
...especially when you try to reduce complex issues down to pure sexual instincts like Freud does.
But you're right his theories have been thoroughly debunked and discredited
My favorite is when there's a school shooting and everyone immediately claims it happened because the shooter couldn't get laid...sad people are this stupid.

Like I said earlier, work on your personality and being funny. (Not aimed at the person I'm replying to, I was just bored and did some reading earlier.)

Humor and intelligence
“Laughter is the shortest distance between two people.” —Victor Borge
quote:
Studies have found that those with a strong sense of humor have higher intelligence than less funny people, and suffer less from depression and aggression. Laughter may have a serious impact on us all; it changes our brain in a manner that makes us wiser, more friendly and more satisfied with our lives (Willinger, et al., 2017; Dowthwaite, 2017).
Self-humor and an ability not to take ourselves too seriously, involve self-confidence, humility, the capacity to see alterative perspectives and respecting others.
quote:
A study has shown that actively funny men are three times as likely to receive a phone number from women than men with a passive sense of humor (Geher & Kaufman, 2013).

What part of what you wrote wasn't presented as your thoughts on the matter? Are you using "I," "we," and "in my opinion" differently than everyone else?

Now we can have conversations , and there have been many conversations on here about exactly WHERE these huge populations are living and WHO we want breeding, and who is entitled to survival, while the rest die off etc etc etc

Her point is that the male loneliness epidemic is a male problem. There’s little if any consideration that the change in societal norms may be inflicting harm on average men.

Sure. A lot of guys suck. That’s what sparked the OP article.
But why do guys suck these days? Can your daughter explain that?

My apologies, Mr. Gates, I didn't mean to misinterpret your poorly written screed about how you feel there's too many people in the world.

I'll admit this. No, there's not.

Spain and Italy are the two exceptions to the this, and I’m not sure what the hell is going on there.
They had bad economies before the 2008 crash when the PIIGS formed. Youth unemployment is insane and bad economic outlooks = fewer children in developed countries, especially if they're relatively socially conservative (and they're 2 traditional-catholic countries). They both have like 1.5 lost generations B2B

They revel it in as sort of a revenge fantasy for feeling like the patriarchy killed every woman for all of human history.
The problem is, leaving men depressed with no path to romance-paid bonding in the current situation, will often not lend itself to a peaceful acceptance of that current situation. We're the sex that goes to war and commits atrocities when we get too frustrated, and women in developed countries spiking the football on men have gotten far too complacent with a feeling of societal security.
That's why they run to frame this issue dishonestly in terms of only sex and rage, and ignore all the nuance and reality.
Let me be clear, I'm not defending violence, but I just understand human biology, evolutionary effects, and human history.

I think the Mexican arrivals in the US have actually gone down in the last few years.
The people who are coming from Latin America, beyond the highly-skilled, are nowadays more frequently from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and to a lesser extent, Nicaragua. Venezuela is one to keep an eye on, as that country is a total disaster and there is a huge diaspora in neighboring countries already.
I think Mexico, much like Brazil, is in that window of affluence where previous birth rates are just not sustainable.
Mexico also seems to have an obesity epidemic, which can’t help.
