I currently drive an '02 Jeep Wrangler but am considering upgrading to a newer Jeep or a Tacoma.

My Dad has an '02 Tacoma and I love driving it whenever I'm home visiting.

What say the OT?

How new? The Tacoma is always a good choice.

What will you be using either for? Just commuting to & from work?

I have a Grand Cherokee and a Tacoma. One is much better than the other. Guess which one.

Both 4x4 and well equipped.

The Tacoma is better in every possible way. I love Jeeps but, they have lots of problems.

Don't get a newer Jeep. But you could snag an older Tacoma. I'd love to have both for different purposes.

Had a JK with starter/cylinder head issues. Nothing like being stranded in a new vehicle.

Have several friends with Tacomas. Interiors seemed cheap and I didn’t like the handling on the highway. Isn’t the Colorado getting good reviews? I’d wait until the Ford Ranger gets reintroduced to the U.S. market. The European base model, 4WD diesel that I drove in 2010 was a sweet truck.

I had an '06 for 9 1/2 yrs. The only 2 "complaints" I had was it wasn't very comfy on longer trips and mileage sucked. The '16s are supposed to get better mileage and since you're only commuting, confront isn't an issue.

Not even close TACOMA DUDE. although word on the street is Yota has "pussied up" the 3 gen. even more. But the only bad thing about the Tacoma is I can't find a grille with shark teeth like I've seen on several of those badass mall crawler jeeps.

Never owned a Wrangler, but I did own a Tacoma.

Drove it for 6 years with zero problems, and I always recommend them to people wanting a mid sized truck.

The new ones look nice. Mine was a 2008.

Having owned both the Tacoma is more practical and reliable. Wish I would have never sold mine. But I am in the market for a TJ.

I like the look of the TJ. I hear the blind spot is terrible, though.

Is this a joke? Not even close. Jeep is a dogshit American piece of junk. Toyota is a super reliable, quality vehicle. If you have a problem with the Toyota price, it's because you haven't factored in all the repairs for that Jeep yet.

As someone who is a big jeep fan, it's really really ridiculously hard to beat a Toyota for reliability. And a jeep sure as frick won't.

True that. I've had numerous repairs on my jeep. Radiator + coolant system replaced, engine replaced, etc.

I did use to drive from Virginia to Baton Rouge straight tho, and a jeep can't handle that.

These are always funny comparisons, since these are not similar vehicles.

If all you care about is reliability and commuting, get some boring car with great MPG.

If you need to haul stuff, get a truck.

If you want to enjoy top down life and have some off road fun get a Jeep.

Drove a TJ for 7 years, do not remember the blind spot ever being a big deal. When the top is off, there is not one
