People waste everyone’s time and money by bringing useless complaints to ERs.
Should allow those people to suffer even more.

Rib fractures are notoriously difficult to see on an Xray when they first occur. The calcification later on was probably the only reason they could see it at all

You have an arterial clot and they have made you wait 6hrs? Wow. I hope you don't lose some toes or part of your foot.

What do you think the E stands for?
Plenty of people get turned away from ERs every single day without treatment.

There are no fewer than 20 people in the ER treating the ER like a primary care facility jamming it up for everyone else.
I was just listening to the guy who started The Surgery Center of Oklahoma yesterday. He was saying that the hospitals recieve a reimbursement from the federal government for "uncompensated care." They made a deal with the feds over EMTALA where they don't have to pay taxes on ER treatment for these leaches for free. On top of that they use cost shifting by overcharging private patients and they are incentivized to overcharge because they will get an reimbursed on the difference in uncompensated care and what they normally charge. All paid by you, the tax payer.
There is a reason medicare and medicade need annual mandatory increases for funding.
Awesome our Feds created this problem and people think they will fix it

This. Never say pain is any less than 10. Always. I remember insane pain after swelling in my brain and I couldn't get enough morphine to save my life because I kept saying 6-8 on pain scale. Once I yelled ten at the nurse the next time she came in and asked how I felt I got enough to kill some of the pain. Most pain I've ever been in seriously. Had mucus clogged up and my eyes were swollen shut and just constantly pressing on my head it felt like I was being crushed.

Yep, I'm aware.
My point was the purpose and spirit of EMTALA is set up for the abuse that we see in ERs every day.
Edit because my fingers no work good at typing.

ER is an absolute last resort for people with means and a hangout spot for poor people to play on their phones while they wait to waste a doctor's time with minor or non-existent ailments.
It's an insane place.
It's an insane place.
