Would zipper trucks help traffic on roads like Perkins/Jefferson/Siegen?

Fixing part of the suicide lane problem while also moving traffic jams. I've seen this up in New England. Median barrier gets adjusted depending on the time of day to support the flow of traffic. They run in the 7 figure range unfortunately.

Thanos eliminating half the population in BR wouldn’t fix traffic on those streets.

We have lights on Nicholasville Rd here in Lexington that switch and adjust lanes depending on time of day, volume of ingoing/outgoing traffic. Same principle and much cheaper than installing whatever that is.

Louisiana drivers can't navigate a single-lane roundabout! Cities where the people can effectively navigate a 2-lane roundabout, this is effective, Look at MD,VA,DC, I-95/395/495 corridor.

Explain how this would work on a four lane road with a center turning lane.

I’ll check back later.

I love that you posted a truck tunes picture of the vehicle.

I’ll have those songs stuck in my head the rest of the day now

More people will use the regular lanes than the center turn lane, so it will just be a "sucks to suck" moment for people that are looking to turn. They will be able to find an alternate way to get to wherever they're turning onto. I would imagine there is a drastically higher number of traffic needing to use the normal traffic flow than people trying to use the center lane to turn using the center lane anyway.
