Probably do it a majority of the time unless I need something cheap and quick I can't find in the American-only results.

I think I (and everyone) would be shocked at how much it limited results though. So much shite is made in China.

it would show the people that run things that Americans want to purchase items that were made in America, and companies follow suit.

But they don't... Unions and regulations ruined American products. China can do it similar quality (sometimes) and for a lot cheaper.

Guys, I've heard it all.

We can shut it down. It's over. Everything has been said.

It would be fascinating to do it and compare availability/pricing. I definitely would at first, no idea if I would continue over an extended period of time though

i could filter using country. if i didn't like the object, price or both, clear the filter and buy something made elsewhere.

The "China benefiting from stimulus money" thread had me thinking about this more.

Normally, I just buy the item that has the best reviews and is competitively priced, but right now, I think I'd do that same due diligence but only comparing American made products to help American companies.

I'm guessing that would be very non-PC and they'd never do that.

Asbsolutely. In fact I've started reseraching my last few purchases to try and find a product made in America. Hardly any luck on electronics but I just picked up some MIA windshield wipers that are arriving soon. TRICO for the win!

Does being a racist POS make you feel more like a man?

I'd settle for them uniformly listing the country on every description, regardless of a filter.

I noticed this week when buying stuff, I couldn't be sure without digging into their links to PDF's of the user manual.

Yeah, kind of what I'm getting at.

It honestly wouldn't be about avoiding China for me as much as ensuring money goes to American companies during this brutal economic time.

It's not hate for China, it's love for my country.

Yes sir, I absolutely would. I realize that not everything would be made available or even justifiable, but if it was anywhere in the ballpark, I'm buying USA.

If you want to help the people of China then by all means go over there and help. In the meantime I'll focus on supporting the businesses in the USA.

Hell I'm Hispanic and have no desire to help nor do I care about the people in Mexico.
