Yes, I'm doing exactly that in a week. Four connecting flights to the other side of the world. Not many reports of the virus there but it's also not a very reliable place for information. They told me I can bail if I want, but this one's a pretty big deal for the company and a place I'd love to see.

That place will be there later. I’d demand an insurance policy from the company if I felt I needed to travel.

No. Even though I am young and healthy, I have loved ones who are not.
Plus I consider myself a good citizen and do not want to risk spreading a dangerous contagion to my community.
Plus quarantine would suck.

Does it encroach upon your responsibilities outside of work to a degree that it cannot be mitigated? Answer: "Sorry, no. Pre-existing commitments need longer notice in advance to make contingency arrangements."
By responsibility; I mean a dependent with serious care workloads; such that replacement care cannot established within the time-frame. It's good to step-up to take care of business, but it's important not to take on too many things at once.
If that's not the case, try to determine the destination and evaluate the locale's partying and debauchery scene. Do they have good weed, wine, and women? If that answer to 2 or more of these questions is a definitive "YES" (and you're confident you can accomplish the objectives for your mission abroad) inform your boss you'll be happy to go.

My company is wanting me to fly to Germany for the 1st two weeks of May. Not sure what I'm going to do yet.

I wouldn’t give one frick about it.

It's a beautiful place. Barring conflicting responsibilities, that's a no-brainer, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Travel international every month, doesn't bother me a bit. Worked in China during the swine flu and it was no big deal other than had to have temperature taken before debarcation.
Work in Africa now with layover in Germany and Spain, coworkers from Italy and China have been forbidden to travel to our locations.
Leave next week, not worried in the least.

My work shut down all international travel and non-essential domestic travel. We are working from home Monday and Tuesday to test system capacity.

Yep. Would absolutely travel. Even to Italy. I'm not part of at risk population. I dont have elderly parents. I see no reason not to fly.

My only concern would be getting quarantined somewhere and not being able to return for a while.

My wife traveled international on Thursday. I will be traveling internationally soon too. Neither of us are worried about the virus.
