https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/25/us/halloween-date-petition-trnd

quote:

So how does moving a date make this spooky holiday safer? In theory, it would mean Halloween would kick off during daylight hours and not interfere with work or school schedules.
Maybe that's what makes the petition appealing to so many. The organization has scraped together 58,980 signatures, and more are coming in by the day.
After its rallying cry, the petition lists safety tips for both parents and partiers. "63% of children don't carry a flashlight while they are (trick)-or-treating. Grab a clip-on light if they don't want to carry one! Children are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car and killed on Halloween."

I would fully support this!!! Halloween has become an adult holiday as well now and would allow a day to recover.

All Hallows Eve is the day before All Saints Day. How do you move it?

Let's move 4th of July, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve too.

Not everything is convenient.

Who’s going to move the holiday? Who’s responsible for administration of Halloween?

I'd support doing away with it all together.

How about we not change things that have been in place for a long time?

Grow up. Halloween is for kids.

No. A Halloween without a couple of injuries is a dull affair.

Let's start referring to a human born with a penis as a woman.

Pretty simple. Ever seen people have birthday parties on the weekend when their kid’s actual birthday was in the middle of the previous week?

Sure...but if we are going to do that, let's make daylight savings time permanent as well.

Know your history

quote:

Trick-or-treating is said to have been derived from ancient Irish and Scottish practices in the nights leading up to Samhain.

Nights is plural. You can still do your whatever on the 31st, but trick or treating is on the last Saturday.

Religion is all made up.

You can move it as see fit.
