Seriously, the wolf is debatably the greatest predator of all time (at least on land). I know the hypothetical is a sole wolf, but the way they hunt is simply fascinating. If it weren’t for us, they’d be running the northern hemisphere.
Only us and the orca are comparable.. and maybe the lion. They are extremely skilled predators, and you’re a moron if you choose the Bobcat, which wouldn’t make the top 100 predators.

I think it comes down to which one you could get in a chokehold quickest, wolves are slower moving, but bobcats have massive claws.
With some of the answers you would think cougar (or maybe a Eurasian lynx) was asked about instead of bobcat or maybe coyote instead of a wolf.
I knew there is a range of sizes for both, but if I was forced to choose between large bobcat and large wolf to survive I would not even look the wolf in the eyes as I took my chances with the bobcat.

Tigers historically haven’t been as wide spread and dominant on the environment as wolves have. Lions and humans are the only other predators that are comparable.

Some of you are vastly overrating bobcats.
You’ll likely get scratched up pretty good, but a bobcat is not going to kill and average healthy male. A wolf can absolutely kill an average male.
