Hopefully you can find a pot or something to boil water in though

Find a couple of hollowed out logs or hollow a few out, put rocks into your fire, preheat your rinse water, take your rocks from the fire, rinse in preheated log, put into final drink water. You'll eventually get boiling water in your final log. You don't have to rinse your rocks, I'm just sure most would prefer clear drinking water.

If I was really stranded I'd probably want to die anyway so whatever could give me the quickest death

Desert. Anything unanimous on the OT must be wrong.

Or maybe you're just a contrarian.

I'm not sure how this is a debate and not sure why the necessity to "boil water" when in a swamp because of the abundance of plant life and rain.

Elephant ear leaves and other kinda big leaves to cup water during a rain, chewing on grass, leaves, not to swallow either, but just for the water content.

And yes, swamp has way more food available. Fish, frogs, snakes, bugs, larvae, etc. Fire is probably out of the question in a swamp so need to eat raw, just spit off the skin and pray.

With nothing to protect you from bugs the swamp would be a disaster. You’d probably last longer in the desert

Nah, plenty of fallen debris, dead limbs, etc that can be baked in the sun a few hours and dried out to start a good fire, then start drying out your bigger timber. If you have a spark you can start a fire. Of course rainwater collection is a great secondary means, but shouldn't be primary.

Have you ever been to the desert? Ever hiked any time in one? You think bugs are going to kill you off in a day? Because the desert almost definitely will if you don't find water.

I’d take the swamp, but I will say this, the one Naked and Afraid I saw in the Louisiana swamp looked fricking miserable being there with no clothes.

Not necessarily. Much of the PNW is desert, with water, and tons of cover. Desert designation is based on local precipitation only, not amount of water locally available. Mountain rivers, aquifers, etc. may fill the water gap.
