If you’re both blind and deaf, you may as well be dead because you can’t communicate and have no clue what’s going on. If I had to choose one, give me deafness over blindness.

How would you do this without the ability to see or hear?

People are misreading the OP. it's not dead or blind. It's deaf and blind.

As some of you may remember, being 40 and going blind does indeed suck. That being said, i still choose life.

I'm above average in deafness and blindness. I choose to live.

Sometimes I wish I couldn't hear people's bullshite so i'd go deaf.

As soon as I read the question, I immediately thought of Dusty Slay talking about Helen Keller writing her book. Hilarious.

Be glad for what you have.
I was running up to 10 miles and now I have to use a cane.

Well... When you're #3, #1 & #2 are pretty well covered.

Ignorance is bliss. If you were really deaf and blind you wouldn’t know any better.
Knowing what it’s like to see alone would make me wish I wish dead if I couldn’t do it anymore.

I don’t know, but people do it.

Alive.
I’m legally blind, I have Retinitis pigmentosa. I have somewhat decent central vision with correction, but zero peripheral vision and zero vision in very dim/dark settings. I may lose the entirety of my vision, but doctors are not sure. I’m 54 so I may “run the clock out” on life before losing all vision.
I can still work from home, travel, read and work out in the yard. I go to peer support meetings in a Lexington, there’s some folks there with near total blindness who have still found meaning and joy in life. All this to say I think humans are resilient and will adapt to most things in able to have life.

This is a very dark and unChristian sentiment. Even as a hypothetical, life as a blind or deaf person is still a huge gift from God. Being somewhat more dependent on others than you currently are is not the end of a happy and fulfilling life.
You sound like quite the disciple. Tell us more.

Are you talking 100% deaf and blind? If so there’s no point in even being alive you are an empty shell that is stuck in its head all day with no way out. I don’t see how you wouldn’t go insane
