Would you give up central AC if it meant the south gets depopulated?

A major reason for the growth of the South is due to the prevalence of central AC. Most countries in the world don’t have this, even first world countries.

So would you give up the prevalence of central AC if it meant the population returned to what it was in the 80s and 90s?

I asked my 90 year old grandfather years ago how they managed to sleep on those hot July and August southern nights before air conditioning.

He simply said, “We didn’t. It was awful”

You are asking if fatties want to give up AC?
I think we already know the answer to this one.

This is so weird. Are people really that much of a problem for you?

Just move to the BFE and keep your AC.

Yes I miss not having gridlock traffic, massive highways, and space.

By “depopulated” do you mean what I think you mean? Because just going back to the 80’s ain’t where I thought this was going.

Mine told me the same thing…he always used to say “the good old days were not all that good.”

My parents did it. Bathe at night, open the windows and turn on the attic fan, then sleep on top of the covers. You get used to it I suppose.
