If my kid is fast and the broomstick makes up for the gap in speed I’ll swing it if it’s needed. I’m not aiming at the head, ribs or knee caps though and I’m not swinging for the fences like I’m juiced up McGwire. Enough to make my point though.

I've spanked my daughter before when she was little but definitely not violently. Not even hard. I think it was more to scare her than inflict physical discomfort. Now she's almost 12 I just take her electronics and give her a book.

I got whipped with a flyswatter as a kid by my aunt. Neighbors kid got crushed with a bamboo stick. That was crazy and something I don’t think I could bring myself to. We could hear it going through the air it was swung so hard and would hear it snap when it hit him. Dude just casually walked back outside and didn’t want to talk about it but get back to playing ball.
