Would You Drive This? 1999 Chevrolet Suburban
Posted by goofball on 2/12/21 at 9:42 am601
Not just any workhorse 4x4....but one of the actual SUVs used in the production of HBO's hit series The Sopranos.
Barrett Jackson
I'll be honest. I'd buy it. Not sure I'd want to drive it and risk an accident. But I would definitely install that Godfather horn from Paulie's Cadillac on this thing.
Some shots of the car in the series:
Later in the second season, the SUV was outfitted with a brush guard and KC lights.

This 1999 Chevrolet Suburban was the actual vehicle utilized in the award-winning HBO series "The Sopranos" by the main character, Tony Soprano, portrayed by the late actor James Gandolfini. Owners after Tony Soprano are left an autographed message within driver's side sun visor: "Be Nice To My Car - James Gandolfini."

Suburbans were better when they looked like that
Now they look like every other SUV in the world but with an overextended arse. They don't have any distinguishing features or culture like they used to have.

Hell Yeah...
First thing I would do is take those Good Year Wranglers off...
My dad a '99 GMC Suburban, and I had a '95 two door Tahoe, interior was basically the same. That thing was a tank...
It was my dad's last vehicle before he went into hospice...

My dad had one that he drove for 15 years. It was a beast. Got about 11 mpg though.

The newer ones look good to me. Not as nice as Tony Soprano's T400 generation, but the 1980s and 1990s were the high water mark for all truck makers IMO.

I've learned that this is a racist thing to do now.
In fairness to Tony, Goodyear was just in the tire business in the 1990s. They weren't concerned with discriminating against non-woke people like they are now.
Goodyear can GFT.

The new ones aren't suburbans. They're wanna be escalades.

It's funny, when I had my 2 door Tahoe, people use to ask me about gas mileage on it. My response was always, "I'd be driving a Corolla if I was worried about gas mileage."

What year?
I really like the 2 door Tahoe's from that generation. A lot of them had the old Detroit diesel 6.5L, but most had the 350 CI V8.
