I´m talking via SMS with a Japanese friend, and she says she´s never tried it, nor had an inkling to do so. She´s a very big foodie. She won´t say it grosses her out, but did say it was a shock, the first time she saw it.
She says she has friends who LOVE it. As in, can´t get enough of it.

In the US, I would agree with you, but It is different in Japan. There is a food documentary/interview with the most sought after sushi chef in the world. In it, he kills a chicken then immediately makes dishes similar to those pictured. In that case, the chicken would be fine.
Side note: what is your opinion on medium rare pork chops?

NOPE

I love sashimi, but there's no way I could do this simply because of the consistency. It's got to be chewy and a little wet.
I can't even eat a lot of fruit, especially tomatoes because of their consistency

I would try it in a good place in Japan.
I’ve had raw ground pork in Germany. Served on a bun with raw onions on top. Not as extreme as chicken, but still not the kind of thing we would consider eating here

sashimi scallops
Not even something to worry about. We used to scallop dive and snack on them raw throughout the day.

I actually prefer my chicken a little overcooked

Do you die screaming like after eating raw hamburger?

I would need to be at a very, very nice restaurant, but sure, I would give it a shot.

The worst it could cause would be five days of the screaming shits, dehydration and death.

People will eat all kind of gross shite because they think it's trendy.
