Racism? It's about the moral quandary that possibly faces us in the near future where robots are so close to humanity we might have to consider their "rights".

It's really and interesting subject.

Ditto on the beer.

Like I said. When you start separating generations of robot slaves who share the same bond that humans have, then you have a topic. That's what made slavery so frickin brutal. A vast majority of healthy men would compromise their singular existence for the preservation of their family. Robots with feelings are 100 years away. Robots with offspring and maternal bonds? Haha 1000 years.

See, I just don't think we are that far off. Technology is growing exponentially and the pace is accelerating.

No, it won't be the same as other forms of slavery, but it will be on the level of say...animals.

Think about a planet of the Apes scenario.

No, because i feel like once we enslave the robots, one day they will grow sick of it all, revolt and kill us all. All with the intentions of robots ruling the world to create a more perfect society

Why do i feel like this was a movie what i just described

if they ever become self aware...we're done.

period.

imagine those frickers multiplying and networking together. They will know everything everywhere about everyone all the time. For once...the left hand will know exactly what the right one is doing.

Animals owned as pets or for work could be considered slaves if you are going to expand the definition to include non humans. Animals are sentient too.
Slavery usually refers to humans, though.

This is why you dont give your toaster or crop harvested self awareness. When the time comes, self aware robots should be made very carefully
