So what do you believe is the answer to exploding crime?

well lets see.....violent crime is still way down compared to 75-2000s, but absolutely it is creeping towards those levels again. So how did we stop it then?

you act like we have never faced this prolem and have never fixed this problem. Did we have soviet style justice then?

my problem is who decides there is zero guilt?

You see a dude on video slaughtering a child, guilt is not in question.

Severe penalties should be rare, but quick and severe. We have a literal revolving door on our prisons.

Empty the prisons of drug offenders with no other crimes, lock up those who have proven they will forever be a blight.

Either march the convicted out immediately to their demise at the hands of a hangman, firing squad, electric chair, injection, whatever…or send them to a hard labor camp for the rest of their days.

This seems a much better crime deterrent than what we currently have.

Watch The Americans, particularly the events leading up to S4:E4, and let me know if that's what you want in this country.

"A government big enough to give you everything you want, is a government big enough to take away everything that you have."

Nothing says "take away everything you have" like a 9mm Makarov to the back of your head.

yea and with advancements of video AI....im sure the government would never ever ever exploit this right?

for someone that claims to not trust the government...you sure are willing to hand them legal authority to kill people.

just remember power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely

Like the kidnapper and the shooter in Memphis should simply get a bullet to the head....and their families charged for the cost.

Deterrence is not the sole objective of our judicial system.
The objective is "justice", which is a broader ambition.
But, you can take comfort in knowing that plenty of people will suffer and even be put to death under the current system, if that gratifies you.

We're on the dramatic upswing, but not quite there. Violent crime reached it's floor in 2014, and has risen steadily since then.

If the evidence is so overwhelming, if there's video, if they've admitted outright, yes, take them out back and blow them away.

EVERY conviction is supposed to be based on zero doubt. If a juror has ANY reasonable doubt, they aren’t supposed to convict someone. Due process exists for a reason. People are still wrongly convicted these days for various reasons while a jury of their peers walk out of the courtroom having ZERO doubt.

I don’t think the Soviet style justice has worked for them.

Must be pretty embarrassing for you to be punked by a bot routinely.
