If you were able to take in cash and did not want to report it or have it traced, would you be afraid to keep it in a safe deposit box at the bank?

Lets say you could stash 15K per year and you were planning on stashing cash for 5 years.

If not in a safe deposit box, then where?

What exactly are you worried about happening to it?

Buy gold coins. Keep in a safe at home or bank vault.

This would be a concern. Banks do not want you to keep cash in a deposit box.

Keeping that much at home would be nerve racking. Fire or theft and its gone. You have to feel like its safer at that bank.

Most important part is to NEVER tell anyone (i.e. Post about it on TD). For reference, recall the sad story of the couple on Highland Road. He trusted a long time employee and let him discover that he was keeping cash at the house. The dude tortured and killed them for it.

What does this even mean? C notes are detectable? How would a bank know how much cash you have in your safe deposit box?

not really in a whole house fire.

in the slab is your best bet if you are afraid of fire, but still not 100%

Invest in guns and ammo buried in waterproof boxes in a location only you know.

Won't devalue with inflation and only increase in worth.

Plus if the shite hits the fan...
